:pushpin: Why should this airline be added?
Air Great Wall was founded in 2012 by the CAAC Flying College based at Guanghan in Sichuan Province after CAAC Airlines had been broken up as an airline in 1991. The airline was based at Chongqing-Jiangbei Airport, in Central West China, and operated to Beijing, Guangzhou, Haikou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Wenzhou.

The airline received 2 Tupolev Tu-154Ms from November 1992, but didn’t operate on these services for long though as both aircraft were withdrawn in April 1995, and spent a decade in open storage at Chongqing before being finally repossessed by Aeroflot around 2003/2004. Replacing the Tu-154s were 3 Boeing 737-200s in 1995.

In June 2001, Air Great Wall was ultimately absorbed by China Eastern Airlines along with many other small regional airline in China like China Northwest Airlines in October 2002 & China Yunnan Airlines in March 2004. Before the acquistion Air Great Wall had given up its Chongqing base and was operating from the Southeastern coastal city of Ningbo.
