Most of the ex-Continental E135s were stored at Kingman in Arizona where they awaited new owners, half sadly wouldn’t find one and were scrapped in-situ. Thought this image was interesting, the DHL DC8s awaiting the torch and the lone weird AN-2 sitting in-between,
Why should this livery be added?
ExpressJet operated 30 of these aircraft for Continental Express between 1998 and 2008, when they were withdrawn following the merger, takeover of United by Continental, and the majority stored at Kingman. Some went on to fly with Chautauqua Airlines and Delta before starting a new life with airlines like Airlink in SA, but the majority were parted out here and then scrapped in 2015-18. They were used extensively from Newark to destinations in the North East and Canada, visiting DCA every so often too. Would be a nice livery to see for an aircraft that didn’t get much airline use.
