Reposting in case I entered my idea in the wrong place:
I am not sure if this is the correct place to make this suggestion, but Marek Tichy pointed me to this forum.
I am trying to bring attention to these other careers, and I believe simulation/interactive content is the best way to attract young people. There is an organization I contacted called the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), which I hope to work with to develop an outreach program for young people. Careers in airport operations is often overlooked as many people believe aviation starts and stops with being a pilot. My aviation career includes working at six airports and I have been involved in airport/airline operations in most of them. There are several things I like about your game is the decision making process of where to park aircraft, how many crew to assign to turn the flight, monitoring multiple operations at one time. I also like seeing the aircraft marshaling and baggage handling since many people never really see what happens on the ramp.
I would to learn how I can work with World of Airports to expand the reach of this game beyond aviation geeks like myself. I have not had the opportunity to speak to anyone at AAAE yet, but I believe your gamification of airport operations should be something they may want to look at. The upgraded ATC communications you recently made are an extra bonus. I would also be interested in using that feature to demonstrate what the controllers do as an aircraft is cleared to land.
Once again, I see a lot of potential for your game beyond the crowd who already love aviation. I initially was trying to use AR/VR to introduce young people to aircraft maintenance but some school officials were concerned about cost and upkeep of the equipment. Your platform allows for a lot more flexibility and can reach more students.
I look forward to hearing from you soon to discuss the potential for this idea.
