Shenzhen Airlines had previously operated 10 Boeing 737-300s in their fleet, with this aircraft, registered B-2972, entering service in November 1996 and operating domestic routes in China up until January 2013, when Shenzhen Airlines retired this aircraft and also their last Boeing 737-300 in their fleet, and replaced the aircraft with the Boeing 737-800 & Boeing 737 MAX 8.
