Why should this airline be added?
In 2003, Delta decided to release its own low cost competitor during de-regulation with a fleet of brightly coloured 757s. The airline was designed to appeal to a hip style-concious female audience, with the name, brand and interiors designed by a New York based associates, the uniforms designed by Kate Spade and customised cocktails designed by Rande Gerber. The airline offered free drinks but charged for food and liquor, had leather seats, greater legroom, in-flight entertainment and a light-hearted approach to travelling. This experiment ended rather suddenly when Delta filed for bankruptcy in September 2005 and deleted the airline in early 2006 as part of the proceedings. The airline operated from JFK and Orlando, with focus cities of Boston and Fort Lauderdale, connecting to destinations across the USA and with Aruba, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands as destinations off the continent.
