Lufthansa was a World Partner of EXPO 2000 in Hanover, with the airline commemorating this achievement with a special livery on a Boeing 747-400, registered D-ABVK, in January 2000, and was named “Hannover” and specially marked with the logo of the world exhibition. Lufthansa had kept this special livery throughout the year up until January 2001, when it was reverted to the standard livery at the time.
