[Economy] - 77L non usable range and very low profits for certain aircraft

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
I would like to see that all aircraft in the game at least make enough profit to be viable in a fleet. A big example of this is the B763 — due to its low profits almost nobody uses it, which is of course disappointing. The developers put great time and work into these models, yet they are rarely used.

Next to that, I would like to see aircraft actually make use of their full range. For example, the 77L has an impressive range of 10,000 nm, but you can only use it to about 6,500 nm before it becomes unprofitable. Why introduce an aircraft that is famous for its extreme range but then not let us make use of it? The same issue also applies to the A346.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?

  • Buff aircraft economics so that all aircraft are profitable and a viable option for fleets.

  • Adjust mechanics so aircraft can use their full range without becoming unprofitable (e.g., 77L, A346).

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
This would make certain aircraft more interesting to unlock and add to your fleet, so the time and effort put into the great models isn’t wasted. In addition, with the 77L’s full range, routes like BKK–SCL would become possible.

A full list of aircraft with truncated fleet ranges include:

Aircraft Displayed Range (NM) Actual Range (NM)
F70 2208 2010
B762 6988 4823
B763 5108 4850
A346 7903 4860
B772 6178 5950
A343 7023 6350
B77L 10037 6690
A388 6994 6806
B744 8080 7600
A35K 8820 8500

I would most definitely suggest the developers to change the way the range is calculated, and either remove negative profit restrictions, or completely change the calculation of estimated profits. Some of these aircraft have wasted potential all because their range is truncated by negative profits, especially B77L, which would have been the sole aircraft to be able to fly from SYD to European airports and Sint Maarten. Hopefully this issue gets enough attention to be resolved

This might just be worthy of a gameplay suggestion itself. On the other hand, if a route actually isn’t profitable, there shouldn’t really be a mechanic which makes them more profitable (or less unprofitable, for that matter), that would then disproportionally promote these (unprofitable for a reason) routes to be used for profit.

I think that this is a carefully thought out and planned feature that isn’t really supposed to change.

Two things.

1. I don’t think the profitability of modern planes is always aligned with how they compare IRL.

2. I think classic planes should useable like they were in their prime including their full range.

So I agree a rebalance should be looked at.

The main point is just here that the 77L has a range of 10.000 NMs but we can only operate it around 6.700 NMs. And this ust doesnt make sense

I get your point, but no airline really used the full range of it, because even IRL, it wouldn’t be profitable, so making it as such in the game would be unrealistic. The exact values might be worth looking at, but it’s not in complete need of replacement. But the removal of profit restrictions would solve it partially, because it would allow you to create such routes, but it wouldn’t break profitability mechanics. It would basically work if you didn’t mind losing Wollars operating the route and just wanted it either to have the destination in your network, or to get the silver plane boost for the longer route.

Do you have any examples of real routes that are blocked in the game?
