Was about to create one, then I saw this and I’ve already voted! It’d be wonderful as more converted freighter models have been added to the game since. New gen aircraft are also in the works so many of these older planes will likely be replaced. Instead of selling the off, why not convert?
I was thinking, the model would have to still be unlocked by GP like the B77WF, but would only cost wollars to convert for passenger planes.

I like the idea as it simulates what could happen in real life when a PAX configured plane gets to old for passenger service. But also, why not just purchase the cargo plane in the first place? Or sell the passenger configured plane and purchase the cargo variant? Only applicable place I see for this is the reward planes where you don’t get to choose the type or aircraft and you would prefer to have a cargo plane over a passenger plane, but even then you could sell it and buy the passenger plane. I still like the idea of possibly converting to a cargo plane though. Anyways, just thoughts.

Well, I was thinking (and I guess didn’t specify) that it would be cheaper to convert the plane to a cargo aircraft, over the alternative you stated of just selling the pax plane and buying the cargo plane.
As for purchasing the cargo plane in the first place. As I said in the original post, this would be an option when the plane is old, after the 4th large Maintanence check. So yeah, if you want the cargo plane buy that one, but this feature would work pretty much as it does irl.
