[Economy] - Prevent the selling of Airplanes from reward planes, just for a money boost

:placard: Title Format : Reward Airplanes are Rewards, not just a bag of Money.

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
First of all, i think all of us are using it, so maybe someone dont like it, if it will be changed.
Even i am using it a lot. When HKG was released, i just claimed a few planes, sold them and started the new airport with about 1.5mio wollars.
So thats nice and easy, but not how the game should work.

So i would prefer, to change this feature.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
How should it work.
Very easy. Just change the money you get, when you sell the plane.
Just let a plane being sold for Silverplanes instead of Wollars, if the plane was claimed and not bought.

So, if you buy a plane like normal, just leave it like it is, you can sell it like now.
If you get a plane as a reward from your airport progression pass, marc this plane as a rewardplane. If a player want to sell it, he will get some silverplanes instead.
I would recommend 100 silverplanes for each tier, so 100 for A, 200 for B, 300 for C etc.
Maybe add a small warning, that a player gets silverplanes instead of wollars.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
We can start at a new airport like we are supposed to start.
No more quickstart booster by selling planes.
Planes as rewards are very nice. But most players dont use them as Planes, they use them just as a bag, filled with money.
A A320 in the progression pass is not a plane anymore, its a medium sized bag of money.
If its not bound to an airport, its like a bag of money wich you can send anywhere you want.

These planes will still be a good boost ofc, because you can use them ys your own planes and get money from operating them. Thats how the game should work, getting money from operating planes, not from selling them.

As you see, i have a few planes waiting to be claimed, wich are not bound to an airport. So if a new airport is released, i claim them, sell them, have a lot of money.

So they are not airplanes any more, they are Money Bags.

Because this feature would make the game harder, not easier, i would like to hear your opinions on this.

That’s the exact reason transferable planes are so limited. At a reasonable quantity, it’s not too gamebreaking, and it’s not like you can get a passive source of transfer planes for free.

Even you grab 5M wollars I am sure you can spend them very quickly and I sold every single transferable aircraft I have in the hangar but still got very limited amount of E/F gates and contracts.

So I think the game scheme over aircraft reward now is fine.

But if I decide I don’t want a plane and would rather sell it to make way for a couple of stands, what’s the problem? I’d much rather not have bother having an E170 lurking around doing nothing but be a hindrance, whilst struggling to make a start. I’d much prefer to sell the E170, buy a nice E class stand or a couple of C class stands and have a cool liveried aircraft at my airport.

I think it’s more of an issue at an airport like SXM or CNN, but at HKG there are something like 11 million wollars worth of gates alone, and that doesn’t factor in contracts and vehicles. It is up to player choice rn, and I like that. Some airports I use this starting boost, some I don’t.

This is more likely a personal behavior-you can stop doing it, but you don’t want to stop others just for respect. We have different way to play this game and this is how the game is so amazing.

I am someone who almost never sells planes (I sold two for HKG and it’s the first airport I’ve ever done that at), I still don’t think it’s a major issue. Let folks play their way. It’s a nice way for people to speed up development without spending GP on Wollars.

I think its still a big Thing. For Players Like me, who already have unlock almost every plane, These Planes are Just Money bags, Always.

Even when its Not that Gamebreaking, it will boost even a big Airport a Lot.

Its mich easier Like i did, to start right away with 10 F, 10 L and 10 C Stands and 200 Handling Crew and contracts after they First day. Without that i would need maybe one or two weeks for this.

I really Like the Idea of getting Planes as a reward, the only Thing i want to Change, that These are Planes, Not a bag of Money.

Ok? No one’s forcing you to sell the planes, this is such a non issue.

We need a downvote button

I mean you didn’t have to sell them, you could make a challenge to operate them on the longest route or something like that. The majority of players don’t have all the aircraft unlocked, if any at all so the aircraft are useful for both the xp and for selling to fund another livery or slot. Why would you want to remove that as a feature?

I don’t love that, I prefer positivity. You can say you don’t like it but downvotes promote a kinda toxic groupthink thing like Reddit.

I wish to cast a net as wider as possible. Whether you choose or not is up to you.

Ofc i dont have to, but i would do that as long as we can, it helps a lot by building a new airport. If i would not do it, i would need much more time for that then other players.

I just want a different way. I dont have a problem with this boost, i just want reward planes be planes, not just transferrable money.

In past updates, they also changed a lot things like that.
For example, at LEJ i have a few million lying around, i think with my transferrable planes (still have some) i have about 50mio.
I have all of this, because cargo planes in the past were incredibly good for short routes, combined with no handling crew limit, it was insane.
But they changed all of that, for a reason.

Even at NGO, i have a big fleet, mainly because of the A340, about 5 years ago, wich gave me 30-40k per flight. they changed this one as well.

So i think things like that should change, to get a better game expirience xD

This is a choice. I use almost every reward plane in my fleet somewhere. If you want to use them as parts of your fleets, than do so! But don’t take away from other people’s preferences and play styles. Not every person wants A306s from the pass in their fleets. For me, it’s one of my favorite planes with one of my favorite liveries. But if you don’t want that plane in your fleet, than you should have the option of selling it.

It’s scary how quick even a million Wollars can disappear and not make much of a debt at somewhere like HKG.

You could switch to buying the plane you want at a discounted price!

I always sell the planes I don’t like, and keep the ones I do like.

Thats actually a great Idea

I don’t see how this is any different to spending GP to buy wollars.

@HeiRae (hullo!) & @CJ_RVWilliams make good points - but if you’ve earned them as rewards why shouldn’t you be allowed to choose where to sell / deploy them?

Every player has their own strategy when playing the game. For example, my strategy is to buy the premium pass and collect aircraft, especially when the game shows that a plane can only spawn at a specific airport (like LEJ, LHR, or SYD). For B, C, and D class aircraft, I usually either sell them or spawn them at their designated airport. For aircraft that can spawn at all airports, once I unlock a new airport, I usually start selling the previous airport reward planes early. This helps me avoid struggling later, or I move those planes to the new airport instead. Some players may agree with this approach and others may not, but this is simply my playstyle. Also, when I joined the community, I realized that aircraft in the fleet can be unlocked with GP only once, and after that they can be bought using wollars. You can imagine how challenging it was to unlock my fleet while trying to progress quickly.
