:pushpin: Why should this airline be added?
Eritrean Airlines represents one of the most historic and geopolitically rich national airlines in East Africa. Its addition to the World of Airports will greatly enhance regional diversity , reflecting its physical presence in the Horn of Africa – a strategic area economically, militarily and humanitarianly.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Practical details – Meticulous and specific

  1. History of formation & national role:
    • Established in 1991 , shortly after Eritrea gained independence from Ethiopia (formalized in 1998).
    • As the only national airline of Eritrea , it serves as a connection between the capital Asmara (ASM) and international destinations, especially Middle Eastern and European countries.
  1. Mining characteristics:
    • Previously operated flights to: Rome, Frankfurt, Dubai, Jeddah, Khartoum, Nairobi …
    • Operations are concentrated at Asmara International Airport (ASM/HHAS) – which has a limited runway length, reflecting the practical challenges of operating large aircraft.
  2. Flight crew (by phase):
    • 1990s–2000s: use of B767-300ER, B757-200 – reflecting international expansion ambitions.
    • 2011–present: A320 focus on short and medium haul operations to the Middle East and Africa.
  3. Current status:
    • Operations are disrupted for a variety of reasons including sanctions, economic, and border conflicts.
    • However, Eritrean Airlines remains a national symbol , used in evacuation, aid or citizen support situations – which can be recreated in campaign mode or special missions in the game.

:compass: Reasons to add WoA
• Increase the authenticity of the African aviation system, which is not fully exploited in WoA.
• Providing short and medium range flights from Asmera (ASM) to major hubs such as Dubai, Jeddah, Cairo, Nairobi – creating unique connectivity.
• Add unique political and historical elements , enriching the “Campaign” or “Retro Routes” modes.
• In line with the logic of expanding to lesser known airports – eg ASM (Asmara), HSSS (Khartoum), HSSJ (Juba), OJAI (Amman)…
• Can be added in two modes:
• Retro (1998–2005) : Using B763, B752
• Current (2011–present) : Using A320

The text for this post is rather strange and hard to follow. Is it AI written? I agree to more African Airlines though.

That was my guess immediately, as a lot of the reasoning and terms didn’t make sense. Also comes off as a bit… politically charged?

I’m confused by this myself, as this user has been suggesting stuff all day, a lot of which was either Military bases or aircraft that are already in game. I’ll keep an eye out here, but I know they did make a fairly long post yesterday in Vietnamese so it could also be whatever translations are being used, especially if it’s AI written so it’s in English.

Yeah, I was thinking something weirdly political in nature but if the chap is Vietnamese then it doesn’t seem as likely. Still the mentioning of the airline for the Horn of Africa as a militarily strategic area considering Eritrea’s dire history is a bit worrisome.
