Its addition to the World of Airports will greatly enhance regional diversity , reflecting its physical presence in the Horn of Africa – a strategic area economically, militarily and humanitarianly.

- History of formation & national role:
• Established in 1991 , shortly after Eritrea gained independence from Ethiopia (formalized in 1998).
• As the only national airline of Eritrea , it serves as a connection between the capital Asmara (ASM) and international destinations, especially Middle Eastern and European countries.
- Mining characteristics:
• Previously operated flights to: Rome, Frankfurt, Dubai, Jeddah, Khartoum, Nairobi …
• Operations are concentrated at Asmara International Airport (ASM/HHAS) – which has a limited runway length, reflecting the practical challenges of operating large aircraft. - Flight crew (by phase):
