:chart_increasing: Airport Type & Size
Key West International Airport is a small airport in Monroe County, Florida. It has one relatively small runway (9/27, 5,076ft or 1,547m) that limits the type of aircraft that are able to serve the airport, as well as the weight. Currently, the largest aircraft that regularly serve the airport are Airbus A319s, A320s, A220s, and Boeing 737-800s.

The airport features a single concourse with eight gates, all equipped with glass jet bridges and capable of serving C aircraft.

:vertical_traffic_light: Why should this airport be added to World of Airports?
Key West International Airport presents a perfect opportunity for a generic airport layout. It features a single short runway, a parallel taxiway, and a single concourse with eight gates equipped with glass jet bridges. The airport is also close to SXM allowing for more A-C player contracts between the two.

The airport would be a great way to test short field operations for C aircraft. The airport would also be a neat addition if the Cessna 208 is ever added as FedEx Feeder C208s serve the airport daily.

If fully implemented, the airport also has many neat features nearby such as a historic fort, an old hijacked aircraft, a tethered radar balloon, a Naval Air Station, a modular control tower, and more.

:world_map: Unique Features or Challenges
Key West International Airport would be a unique addition primarily for its short field operations. This is due to the airport featuring a runway that is 5,076ft (1,547m) long and sharing airspace with Naval Air Station Key West (KNQX). The airport is also in close proximity to the Cudjoe Key tethered radar balloon.
