Hello everyone,
We’ve noticed an increasing number of questions and requests regarding airports in regions such as India and Africa, and we’d like to address this openly and honestly.
World of Airports is a free-to-play game, but behind it stands a small, independent development team. Creating a new airport is a large project that takes several months of work, involving research, 3D modeling, optimization, testing, server infrastructure, and ongoing support.
While the game itself is free, its development and operation are not. Every new airport must help cover:
- development time and salaries,
- server and database infrastructure,
- platform fees (Apple / Google),
- and ongoing maintenance and support.
When we decide which airports to develop, we have to carefully balance player interest, technical feasibility, and long-term sustainability of the game. Some regions have very large and passionate player communities, but unfortunately also lower overall monetization, which makes it difficult for us to expand there as quickly as we would like without putting the future of the game at risk.
This does not mean these regions are unimportant to us. On the contrary — we see the interest, and we truly appreciate the enthusiasm and feedback. However, to keep World of Airports alive and improving for everyone, we must grow in a way that is financially sustainable.
That said, we are actively thinking about fair and reasonable ways to make future expansions possible for more regions without compromising the stability of the project. Progress may be slower than some would wish, but it is done with the long-term future of the game in mind.
Thank you for your understanding, your passion, and for being part of the World of Airports community
