General Pre-Release Discussion

Anyway, I want to use existing assets like general aviation airports on the missing piece of the puzzle - the African continent - to connect the world. If playable airports could be established in Perth and Africa… it could be made a reality.

I’m still in the minority that likes the idea of generics, just as long as they don’t take any resources away from the actual modelled airports. I feel it’d add airports in regions of the world people may never get one. Doesn’t bother me if they’re not the same looking taxiway wise, just as long as they’re similar like CNN. One in Uzbek and another in North Africa would be quite welcome imo as long as they’re just generic airports irl too. Something special with a unique look and layout should be missed and done later as a proper one. Just my tuppence worth on the matter lol

I personally think that Generic airport are an intresting add to the game, because as say before from other users, they add airport wherepeople doesn’t even think about tht much, like adding an airport in Uzbekhistan (sry if spelled wrong) can be an intresting location, even if someone say that they can add that airport in Normal and not generic, it would weight more in the game file and the devs should do more work, so with generic airport there will be more ““diversity”” of airport location in game.

(unless they add all of them in the same place).

Ps. Many airport have almost the same layout, and i dont thhink that the devs are gonna copy and paste evry generic airport with only changing the name and the airline, so even if similar is always better than nothing, unless they spend more time on Generic airport than in the Normal.

Well if we’re on the topic of generic airports and global diversity, let me just add in my thoughts as well.

I liked what was originally pitched by the devs for generic airports, because it meant that new airports in different regions could be added at a much faster rate.

But then CNN came, and, to keep it brief, I’ll tell you why I haven’t unlocked it: 1) the layout doesn’t reflect what the airport actually looks like irl, and 2) CNN is quite possibly one of the blandest airports in India that they could have chosen. I know that the devs originally wanted DEL, but I wish they could have added something with a bit more, such as COK.

What I really want from the game is a global portfolio of playable airports, which, unfortunately, is something that would require lots of time and money. There are so many unexplored regions that have a lot to offer for the game (I’ve got a wishlist!), and though I understand that the devs have to expand in the direction of profit, I’m hoping that we’ll still get to see the rest of the world, even if it’s in the form of generic airports.

Has anyone found the A330-200 from Yemenia?

Rn, it is not obtainable. Yemania Air not found in since no airport is connected to Yeman

It’s a bug that Charlie already explained and that will be fixed in a future game update.

It is new in terms of both technology and the amount of work involved. The airport was created completely from an empty canvas.

i have to say i recently lost all my data on the ipad which was actually a godsend getting to reset all the airports again and replay them. i have to say INN is STUNNING. the graphics on that airport compared to all the others even HKG is incredible it looks so real and the shadows and aircraft somehow look even more real compared to when they are at others airports.

if thats the new standard then i cannot wait for ZRH it will surpass all the others with this new level quality.

exciting times!!

To be honest, I truly can’t wait for the future of World of Airports. I’ve been playing since 2022 and have absolutely noticed ho much the game has changed. Keep up the good work devs.

And I look forward to many more exciting updates coming in the future.

Yup, clear as day. Does that mean the 787 might get the door livery update and wheels then in this update or is it just due to demand?

Definitely it. Snazzy,

Possibly due to demand as it is the most requested livery in the forum.

What do you mean with doors livery update and wheels?

Hiro is referring to the doors opening and closing like they do in reality, as per recent remodels such as the A330 and gear tilt.

Currently the 787 doesn’t have the more recent door animations nor gear tilt.

Oh I thought so

But from what Charlie said a few months back, all older V3 models will be redone to current standard so I don’t think that will happen in the next update

I would wonder if the B787 would get redesign or improvements that soon, probably just liveries will be added.
