General Pre-Release Discussion

My question is: What is there to “redesign”, it’s one of the nicest (and most realistic) airports ingame. Unless they are hinting at…

General Aviation coming soonish maybe???

This is merely a guess so correct me if I’m most certainly wrong Charlie , but I presume the stands would be made realistic and allow for 757’s to park at all the spots, or at least at some maybe alternating like BRI. Plus, it’s small enough to be able to cope with a higher level of scenery so maybe we’ll see that too :eyes:

I certainly hope that does happen, back to the days of flooding INN with 757s when we could have multiple of them there when it was a medium plane. I do love INN lineup screenshots, so I can only imagine one with some more 757s in them. I do wonder if this updated INN would include some additional 757s to use there? They were a staple of winter at INN.

I saw it and I just say WOW. The level of detail is other dimension, like it have the right color of trash bins  wind depending landing direction and yes B757 are back and definitely more than 1

Because its redesign of inn. Maybe it include usage of both sides of runway like cnn.

Ooooh golly I can’t wait for filling that airport with holiday charters and their 757s.

My dream :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: (I don’t think I’ll ever buy ZRH, I’ll be here forever ),

Ooh I’m getting my wish, we’re already starting with airport redesigns :grin:
Granted I too thought why INN but I think the multi direction is definitely a welcome

I’m ok with holding off with ZRH for now, can’t wait to get to BRI and PRG with the redesigned stands and whatever brings 757’s (specifically the -200 and Freighter) to INN that can be implemented to other airports like LEJ

Still very excited for more info on the split handling

Impecable timing because people were JUST talking about it in the INN conversation

Also it may be to early to ask but any plans for an IAD rework this year?

WOW had NEOs? you learn something new every day. I assume they never really had much time in service though, right?

4 built, 1 with engines applied for testing prior to the airlines collapse. I believe all 4 were painted too or some partly painted.

Will we have Devlog #31?

Oh man, we’re talking about IAD already  Honestly I was thinking about it too cause if devs are circling back and starting from INN, then maybe we could have it in the next two years :eyes:

IAD already had a rework, and the inn one is largely driven by scenery upgrades which might not be as easy with IAD given the size. I would be stunned, personally. The devs already have WAY too much on their plates, and they seem to be hugely overpromising recently. I would be inclined to think that just the stuff that’s already been announced is one to two years of work, although they may have dropped a lot of it from their to-do list.

In line with what I said above, I personally think if we did have it, it would be fine if it was a progress update on existing stuff, which I would love, but I would hope that they wouldn’t announce much new stuff. They have announced SO much stuff in the last few years that ended up never being added or taking years. I think they really need to be focusing on the massive pile of content that they have already announced.

Yeah I was thinking that too because while I know they improve every year, they have put out so many teasers lately that haven’t seen much development since.

Like we didn’t hear about the other 747 variants for months until recently, weve seen the a330neo but we’re still yet to see the ceo or the 340. We’ve seen some leaks of the military jets but no progress since, and theres the 737 which is an entire half years worth of work by itself. And that’s just aircraft, there’s zrh, which doesn’t seem to be coming any time soon, no news on generic airports, and with them now wanting to go back and rework old airports it gives me a feeling that zrh is one of the only airports this year(which I don’t mind, I would rather the other airports get perfected first). And of course there are alliances, the new cargo system, 2-phase handling, and bizjets/GA which seem to be mere visions at this point.

I trust the devs will come through, but the fact that we are two months into the year with just one update and so much left on the roadmap has me a smidge bit concerned that they might have a bit too much on their plates. Anyways I’ll be awaiting the next devblolg when we see these plans in more detail.

P.S. when I said IAD rework I meant the stands because in spite of the previous remodel the stand layout is still the farthest from real life of any non generic airport.

the thing to me is not the ‘just one update’, because i think the size of updates has changed recently so there are fewer but more content in each. its just that there are SO MANY unfulfilled announcments, stretching back years.

Nagoya is the airport with the mostly needed update. Old looking and not the correct amount and location of Gate/Jetways.

Sad to hear that split handling will come so late. I had hope that developing is nearly done and ready to release with the next upcoming update. For me split handling is most awaited feature of all announced features.

Regarding Nagoya, I agree. It’s one of my favorite airports in the game.
I understand that there may be other airports that also need updates as well.
However, its current layout significantly reduces the number of cargo aircraft it can handle (considering that in reality many stands are Category D rather than C).
It also limits the number of PAX aircraft stands at Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the remote stands, which in reality should be able to accommodate larger aircraft.
In addition, the cargo stands are mixed-use in real life — they can handle both cargo and passenger aircraft — which is not properly reflected in the current in-game layout.

Also, the second runway is planned to open next year.
