Help me decide how to use gold planes

Hi everyone! I play this game for about 2 years, but only now have decided to create an account on this forum.

Right now, i’ve maxed out all levels at all airports (anxious for ZRH  , several level 10 contracts ready to play at HKG already), and have nearly all Premium Passes, except for GRU and SYD.

I also have unlocked a few airplanes:

E170, CRJ9, A319, A321F, A321NX, A321NY, A332, A332F, A359, A380, B38M, B752F, B764, B77LF, B77W

My fleet also uses the Standard 2 Livery, which i like to keep it padronized throughout my fleet at all airports (Worldwide Airlines). Missing this livery is the A319 and A332, which i don’t use anymore, and the B38M, which i started to use again at PRG (to ZRH).

Right now, i have 68 GP, which will become 80 in the next 48 hours, and i’m torn between two ways to spend it:

  1. buy GRU Premium Pass. It is the only airport which i still haven’t developed a full own fleet to all playable destinations, and my homecountry airport, which i’ve been playing more realistically in terms of traffic. Later on, save for SYD premium pass and only later continue expanding fleet and liveries, or

  2. buy new airplanes and/or liveries. There are very few niches undeveloped, such as:

CRJ2F, for small routes out of BRI, PRG and LEJ, perhaps even INN and LHR

CRJX, the best B category plane (mainly for IAD)

BCS1 (Basic 2 unlocked) and BCS3, long and thin C category planes, mainly for IAD and MCT, perhaps SYD.

B763F (Basic 2 unlocked) or MD11F, better and longer haul D category freighters, mainly for CNN and a few long and thin routes for B763F

B788 (Basic 2 unlocked), which I extensively use the reward planes, but would still buy a handful at other airports, such as MCT

I consider my unlocked fleet already very good, but i aim to serve every possible playable airport pair when able. I wonder if i have forgot any niche to serve, and would only invest in new planes if they unlock a new niche my current planes do not serve.

Thank you very much!

I would save ±130 for the Premium pass for the next airport. That’s what i always do so that as soon as it unlocks you can get it (usually it’s cheaper so you save some). Once you have more i would unlock additional planes.

Especially for Zurich the B category will come in nicely as it can reach BRI, PRG, LHR and LEJ for connections, so the CRJX would come in nicely.

I’m curious about why didn’t you mention B748F… the best cargo model in the game IMHO.

My personal guess on ZRH is that we are still a few months out. I would also assume that it is unlikely that the premium pass will be over 100 GP for it.

Your advice is great on several levels. However, i plan on doing that a bit later. For 2 reasons:

  1. it will certainly take a few months for ZRH to drop, when that happens, i’ll certainly have another ± 80 new GP, and i don’t believe it will cost more than 100 GP to buy. In part, it is a gamble of time and expected cost.

  2. I still have quite a few airplanes to be allocated at a new airport from the premium pass at HKG. Premium passes, to be honest, only help me when the airport is already at regional level, at the very least. Therefore, i can wait both the few months it will take for ZRH to drop, plus a few 2 weeks of playing before the premium pass being truly worthwhile.

Back when i bought the B77LF, it was still the old version, plus it had a bit more range than today, making routes such as NGO-SAN possible. The 77LF is also slightly more versatile in comparison to the B748F, due to its smaller capabilities.

Given my current fleet, there are very few routes i operate in which the B748F will perform much better.

I love premium passes and I buy them all. Beyond that, if you are looking for niche routes (your fleet building style is very similar to mine where serving all the routes is a high priority), here are my thoughts:

If your goal is coverage on niche cargo routes in Europe, I’m going to recommend the AT45F instead. It (and the SF34F) have slightly more player route options out of LEJ especially that the CRJ2F doesn’t have. AT45F has slightly better revenue, XP, and SP as well over the SF34F for these routes, so its my pick, but both fill the same function in your fleet.

For as good as these planes seem on paper, the high profitability and high xp doesn’t really make up for their long runway distances requiring them to backtrack at INN, SXM, and CNN, where B planes really shine. Since you already have the E170, I’m not sure if there are any routes you need another B from anywhere in the game, and certainly not from IAD. If you really want another B plane, the E175 would be a slight upgrade, but the E145 would be my pick for its elite usable range compared to other B planes, which may allow for more routes where this is the only B plane possible in the future.

I don’t see any of these planes expanding your route diversity at all, or enhancing profitability on certain routes. In addition, the Cs aren’t useful for player connections from SYD (A21NY only here for player C routes).

Both of these are must-purchase planes in my mind. The MD11F is more profitable over the majority of its range, and the B763F has a slightly longer range, though I don’t know if that allows more player to player routes as I prioritized the MD11F.

There’s a few additional planes you haven’t mentioned, so I’ll give a brief summary:

E190F – this plane serves the low demand C cargo niche. Largest cargo plane (and only C cargo) that can fly LEJ > BRI for example.

A20N – this is the most profitable low range C plane (especially at ranges of less than 400nm). As far as I can tell, this will be one of, if not the, top C plane to ZRH from LEJ, though I haven’t tested if that extends to other airports.

F100/C130J – this pax/cargo pair doesn’t expand route diversity, but they are immensely friendly to runway flow at airports such as SXM, CNN, and INN due to the fact that they are C planes that use the B runway exits. The improved runway flow makes these airports far less painful.

B753 – this D plane uses the C runway exits and is solidly profitable, while also surpassing many E planes in xp grinding (probably not an issue for you, but good for people you are sending contracts to!). Because of this shorter backtrack, this plane is my pick for connections to/from SXM and CNN as it improves airport flow over 787s, etc. The B752F which you already have, and the C17 are the cargo equivalent of this but the economics, high demand, and low range of the C17 make it struggle to fill a niche in player contracts.

B748 – This won’t expand route diversity, but think of it as the ideal F plane for low demand destinations and long distance destinations. It pairs nicely with the A388 if you divide the between short haul high density (A388) and long haul / low density (B748).

What about the A333? It will soon become more expensive.

Great Thought because the A333 will be a a good purchase before the price gets bumped cuz of its remodule

Yes if getting plane models that we know are going up in price once they get remodeled is a priority, we know the following have upcoming remodels:

  • A330 family
  • A340 family
  • C130J and C17
  • B737 family

See more about upcoming features and what we know here: What’s coming in the future?
