I am wondering how does world of airports develop airports, like do they ask the airport first? Like how do they do it?
I think they use a delvopling sowftware for delvoping the airports. I’m just assuming
I know but like do they ask the airport first before adding the airport?
well this depends they could have a vote on a airport or the devs chose an airports & share some sneak peaks
I think he means do they need to get permission from the airport first. Also, the only instance I know of is that the developers have some kind of working relationship/deal with Prague airport (their home country).
that is completely right
I had once asked in the devblog because I was interested in it myself and the answer was not detailed, but it was already confirmed that it requires a kind of licence for aircraft models, airline liveries and airports. I don’t know whether these licences have to be purchased financially, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
That’s also the reason why DEL wasn’t released, apparently there were problems with the licence.
And this is also the reason as well why there are no accidents, problems or emergency landings in the game. The aircraft manufacturers and airlines kindly give out the licences and none of them want to see their aircraft involved in an accident.
But as I said, I can’t say what the situation is with the licences, but they do exist, if not for everything, then certainly for some things.
My understanding is that there is the license for the platform (Unity). An Agreement with Tamimodels for the base airport models. They generally use publicly available information to build them, like flight radar for the pathing work.
As for the aircraft. I am not 100% sure. But i believe there are a number of agreements in place for that.
You are correct about PRG, they have a very close relationship with them, in fact one time PRG pointed out something that was missing from the model (I think a fuel station if memory serves) and a few weeks later in an update it was added.
DEL was delayed due to a shift in the platform license to per download and it was not economical to release it. However Unity changed it back and now DEL is likely on the list to be done. But before everyone gets excited, there is NO timescale for that release whatsoever
In general it would be awesome if dev’s could give us more a look behind the scene and show us such considerations.
