I´m pretty new here so excuse me for any mistakes or wrong handling in advance.
I am level 60 at IAD and already run an own fleet of 1x380, 1x7478F, 1x777, 1x330F, 1x343, 2x757 and 1x7378. My next goal is to widen my fleet so I need more W at the moment.
Which connection brings more money? Playable airports (if yes: send request or start connection?) or to non playable airports with the highest profit per roundtrip? Any other tips?

Player connections definitely. And with one certain person. As then you get more xp to level you up. (And too get more planes)
Player connections or random arrival or just other airports (CDG, FRA, DXB, …) bring the same. Only difference is the routes you fly that make a difference. A bonus with player connections is that you start off with a lvl10 contract, so after completing that you get the max xp for that aircraft. A bonus of other airports or random arrivals to player airports is that they come back immediately, whereas with player connections you could sometimes wait a while (depending on who you play with) for the plane to return
