Apparently, with the new update, IAD now has the most runways in the game and is also one of the most expensive, coming in at 20 GP. I only have 6,000 SP, and was so close, but sadly I couldn’t make it.

That is genuinely so criminal. 20 GP?!?!??! These prices are getting extortionate, seems like every remodel triples the price of the plane

Iad is supposed to be a beginner player’s first taste at an actually big airport but aint no new player is gonna be able to afford that(unless they grind out prg till the end). I’m sorry but no way it’s worth more than lhr AND bkk

Yeah it was 8 GP and with the little time I had to play WOA, I was budgeting and trying my best to grind contracts to get SP
Yeah, best example of the inflation is this:
100GP for a single plane unlock + 1 livery
Thats £21.49 or around 6 weeks of grinding
For the same/less than that of could buy a triple A game like red dead 2 (widely regarded as the best game of all time)

something I think contributes to this price change is that it was in(I think) Aprils q&a where they said they will be adding new “missions” where you can earn gp so they are raising prices to adjust for that

Not going to get new content at 2019 prices. Unfortunately, just the way it is and the prices aren’t that crazy given they are one time.
I’ve paid $9.99 for many months on other games for their “passes”…

The thing you have to remember is that , unlike many many other games, you are able to get the GP in this case for free (884 GP per year for free if you purchase the 17 weekly). And if you wanna support the devs and/or wanna unlock content faster you can pay for it. Imo idrc that the devs increase prices quite a bit.
They are already very generous and it’s a very known fact that prices increase with remodels (although not for IAD). But let’s be serious. It would be way too easy now to catapult your earnings if you only need to spend 8 GP for it now. And given how good IAD has now become, 20 GP is a very fair price.
(Devs need to be able to keep the servers running and I hope, if they aren’t able to already, they all can make a living from this game)

a bit off topic can but you help explain to a newbie why IAD is good for catapulting earnings? is it more planes per hour?

it is the first big airport you can unlock by just playing the game (so through the levels). Before this update it was a decent airport, but it was only 1 landing and 1 take-off, so it was a bit slow getting planes to land. But now with the new update, it has 4 active runways. 1 Landing, 1 take-off and 2 both landing and take-off. So now you can really fill up the airport and handle more planes, thus you can really increase your earnings and most importantly for eventually getting gold planes, earn loads of silver planes.
It is the 4th airport to unlock for free and the next one is MCT which is 2 airports I believe after IAD, so for a beginner IAD is really an amazing airport in the early stages of the game
