IAD shares stands question

So I was under the impression that IAD got new shared stands, though it looks like it didn’t since the only thing that’s changed is B757s can now used the A/B gates since is reclassified to D. Am I missing something?

They haven’t implemented them (yet). There is a change in that not all 20 gates at the A and B terminal can park 20 F planes at a time (A388 and B748). And a G stand that blocks the 2 next to it at the cargo section. Not sure if they still plan on implementing D and E gates at terminal C and D, but I hope they will ik the future

Thanks for clarifying. I agree, it’d be a nice touch if the C/D terminal could fit smaller aircraft. There’s also some stands on the real terminal that can fit B767s and B787s which would be nice to see implemented as well

Not sure if this is addressed elsewhere, but the way 757s (D-class) park at Terminal A really messes with the flow. That terminal is the only spot where E and F planes can park—and when a 757 claims a gate, it’s like watching a regional jet block a widebody at rush hour.

Sure, it adds chaos (and maybe that’s part of the fun?), but it stretches game time in a way that feels more morbidly amusing than strategic. A toggle to restrict where certain D-class planes can park would be a game-saver—literally.

AND, it gets worse when the Tower Delivery random generator decides to park 757s at half of the E/F gates Terminal A. Does anyone else enjoy this bit of Gate Tetris?

Otherwise, LOVING the updated version 3 updates, so this is minor (like a 2 hour delay, rather than a cancelled flight).

Oh yeah I feel your pain, the tower manager at my SYD decided to put one of my twin otters at the international terminal, it was quite the sight for sure

I don’t use the delivery manager for that reason

In this case use the option to assign stands based on size in delivery manager section, this way you can keep D below E and F and thus E and F will get assigned to the A/B stands
