If I buy the category “M” for a slot, can an aircraft of the category “S” also be parked if it is not unlocked?

Nope, you can only park with what you purchase. So if you want/can park S/M/L/X at one stand, you will need to buy (for passenger aircraft)
S - $2,000
M - $4,000
L - $6,000
X - $8,000

Total of $20,000 needed to open all 4
