I’m playing INN quasi realistic, but am wanting to include more older aircraft in my flight scheduling, so am looking to pick up a few older charter airlines / airlines that have ceased operations to the airport. The main ones that I am aware of are:
Trade Air
Marathon Air
Air Charters Europe
Air Dolomiti
Does anyone know of any others that have flown into INN where the flights can be purchased on the WoA map? Bonus points if they utilize B757s, Fokker’s, and any props and I just don’t have a ton of these scheduled other than the Austrian DH8Ds / Fokkers, Air Dolomiti ATRs, Iceland Air 757s, and Trade Air Fokkers.
Some of interest, Air Dolomiti I believe is to restart the old Lufthansa FRA route this year. Lufthansa used to have a CRJ do the MUC route and an A319 do the FRA route which could be of interest. If Monarch had been given their 757’s those were a regular on the LGW/MAN routes to INN. Austrian Fokkers did some routes for a few years to UK and Irish destinations on ski charters but aside from that, nothing 757, Fokker and prop related in-game off the top of my head.
Air Berlin used to fly the Q400 in but we’re still yet to see the third highest voted airline , lots of 757 options irl but none yet in-game and likely not for a long time. Fokkers we’re missing the big charter operator Avanti which did a lot of flights in the late 2010s and in 2020. KLM might’ve done some limited charters with the Fokker 100 in the late 2000s but the records are a bit spotty for that.
If and when the 2010 limit gets pushed back and we get some 2000s airlines you could have DBA and GirJet, both of which did charters, the former for German ski tourists and the latter for Austrians heading to warmer Spanish shores. Spanair did some too with a mix of the Fokker 100s and MD’s.
If you fancy doing some realistic Fokker ops for AUA, I’ve got a fair few in the database thing here.
Glad you’re enjoying it though. Recently been enjoying BKK because I put the effort in to do realistic routes utilising aircraft types used or previously used and making a hodgepodge of A359/A346 line ups which surprisingly can keep me occupied for ages lol.
This is great. I’ll peak through this and probably utilize some of these ideas to revise some of my routes to match what planes actually flew them in recent history. It’s nice see the variety of planes. The only downside to limiting yourself to only IRL planes is that modern aircraft lineups at smaller airports can be a quite stale parade of A320 and B737 series jets.
Jet2 does do year round routes to INN these days, and I’d love to get some variety in here (also… not really my favorite livery… it’s a bit billboard-y lol). Thanks for the idea!
Oh - can you share your source for the possible return of the Air Dolomiti route to Frankfurt and/or do you know what plane it is? If it’s an ATR I will totally swap my contract to there!
Ah so I’m a bit off. They came back in 2022 but don’t seem to be doing it anymore. Their website still lists it as an option but you can’t book it it error 404’s. Air Dolomiti retired their ATR’s by the mid-2010’s so it will have been either an E195 or E190, though you could do an ATR for your own preference, tends to be what I do haha.
Ooof. I guess I’m behind. I wish more airlines would be like IcelandAir and keep a few prop planes on hand. I just think they’re much more interesting to look at. Maybe I’m just old and cranky and want the jets to get off my lawn though.
You are but I am too haha. Just prefer the older days, with more unique and interesting types and colour schemes. Air Dolomiti is a great example of a downgrade even if their new livery is still better than some others. I always like a good mix of props within my airports, just need them sounding a bit better.
I have a feeling we’re not going to be seeing many new liveries for types in-game until the doors are remodelled on the lot of them. Landing gear won’t affect the liveries so the hangingness will come with time but the doors will for the whole Airbus C class family and such. I mean it’s either that or those liveries are never coming haha.
After adding in a few historical routes as well as some that are more fictional but allow for airlines that used to serve the airport to serve from their current or former home bases, I think I have a fairly decent route setup. Still room to have a few of my own planes as well which will be nice to sprinkle in (keep an eye out for my SF34s at BRI if you are playing there )..
I respect their style of play. I’ve filled my inn with every contract imaginable and have quite a variety of Airlines that are real routes and routes I invented, and it’s really better never to fly empty.
Hey guys, I’m actually playing at Innsbruck Airport and I’m looking to get some new contracts that are profitable. Does anyone here have some suggestions??
Is this in regards to player aircraft or to regular airliner contracts? I’d highly recommend the Austrian Fokker 100, has the best xp and silver for an aircraft that lands and takes off without needing to backtrack, really speeding your ops up.
