What is point of becoming international status if I can already take international flights?
Some of the contracts you get in levels at each airport are normally higher than the airports rating as they are designed to give you some variety and help you level up, as well as occasionally giving you event liveries as regular contracts.

This contract is a reward in the rewards pass. If you wanted to get an international contract from the map, you’d need to pay silver planes + wollars, once you get the international star, you only need to pay wollars (the basic currency).
