But why s planes mostly don’t need deicing rather than M, X and L planes?
Something I noticed previously; There is a certain timer that runs in the background and if the plane is handled within that time the ice ‘doesn’t form’ on the plane and hence they don’t need de-icing.
(Correct me if I’m wrong)

You are correct, sometimes even happens on M aircraft too ( although much rarer)

It’s interesting because that’s not really how it works in real life. We de ice our smaller jets like E175s and CRJs even though they only have 30-40 minute turnaround times.
