Hello everyone, as we all may know about the recent shut down of spirit airlines has affected tons of people including staff, passengers, and people that were a fan of the airline. Well now to the real question, should it still remain in WOA. People who want to get rid of the airline or people that do not will think differently. A solution could be to meet right in the middle of. Now this meaning the airline and its destination would be removed entirely from the map contract and the local, regional, or even international contract section. Every now and then WOA devs could add special arrivals into the airport one might be playing on. What do you guys think of this idea and do you guys miss spirit airlines? No. The devs will not get rid of Spirit, as they do not remove airlines that went defunct during the game’s runtime.
I mean that’s not 100% true, Look at the Luke Air A330
but Spirit was a staple in the US. I don’t think they’ll remove them
Personally I’d get rid of them eventually as operations at certain airports change. I.E. SAN didn’t have that many flights so I might get rid of the contracts eventually but MSY had a bigger presence so it’s a toughie
I’m all for the idea of realism but why is that realism limited to just modern day. I personally fell in love with aviation in the late 2000s and early 2010s so I’d love to recreate that era in aviation. Removing past airlines limits what players can do and some players like to keep reminders of sentimental memories, maybe they’re like me and have good memories of their first time on a plane, maybe that was Spirit and they want a massive Spirit hub to remember them. It doesn’t take away from people’s experiences as if other players don’t want them then they can ignore them.
I have a large amount of Spirit at my MSY and it’ll remain that way, potentially more if the devs add the old livery because I’d love a mix.

Definitely personal preference. I don’t mind if people want to use something or not but removing it feels a little unnecessary, especially for something so fundamental to US travel over the past 30 years. I operate what I feel a lot of the time lol. I’ve got the old irl Air Italy route from MXP to BKK for example but also got an unrealistic one from FCO just because I love the livery haha. I personally stand by as long as it existed, let people rock what they want to.
Definitely keep that FLL-SXM route as a bonus contract for the airport, unless there’s something better to replace it with.
I think that removing Spirit would be like removing Alitalia from Italian airport, I’m with the idea of keeping it even for the colour that their plane add

It won’t be removed. It’s important to remember in recent updates we’ve got a pretty good number of new airlines that aren’t around anymore. The only example of one removed recently is Luke Air, and why it was removed is anybody’s guess, a bit random in that case. Everything else that’s been removed has been individual liveries that have ultimately been replaced by something else.
I mean, why remove Spirit when you’ve not long added BMI?

This EXACTLY. I personally am removing most spirit contracts from my airports, but am keeping 1 to Spirit’s Largest hub just for the variety and to commemorate it (FLL > MSY). Give us the options so we can craft out experiences the way we want it.
If we were to eliminate airlines that are bankrupt or have ceased operations, then these things would need to leave.
- the airlines they use for special arrivals.
- Airlines that went bankrupt years ago
- aeroplanes that stopped getting used.
- Stop suggesting airline liveries on airlines that don’t use that variant of the plane anymore.
I love Realism, but if you were to make it real, the game would need to get rid of several already gone airlines. Alitalia Airlines, for example or Air Berlin.
so the real question is if your willing to ignore these contract suggestions of these gone airliners or such.
On the contrary, they should add more airlines from the past and the current ones that are missing. This game is based on aviation, and removing an airline because it went bankrupt would eliminate almost the majority of them.In the game, some are on the verge of bankruptcy or have already disappeared, so please refrain from commenting on removing any of them, as it wouldn’t be feasible for the game’s diversity. And that those that were removed in the updates that have been made return.
