First-time poster here.
I returned to the game after leaving this aside for a few years. I realised I do not get silver planes and XPs for some routes. I have looked up some dated threads, and what I am seeing are not contracts that have been taken 10+ times.
What I see is that the game only awards Wollars. I can see from the card that I have only done that contract 3 or 4 times. I was expecting XPs to help me level up, but levelling up is extremely slow because they are not awarded.
I have used a ramp agent, meaning all handling is done on time.
You don’t get rewards on every handling. The contract will add more required handlings each time you complete it, to a maximum of ten. These are the airplanes on the bottom of the contract card. If you have 3/5 green and the other two gray, for example, you have completed 3 handlings, and have 2 more until you get the rewards.then it will reset and you will need six handlings instead of 5

Thanks @Thatflyerguy for the info.
I was wondering what those icons mean - and what about if I hit the maximum of 10? I was thinking I could cancel some contracts when I am done with it. I still have the luxury of transferring from version 1.0 to regional and international contracts for airports like IAD and NGO I used to play.
I imagine it will be an extremely long road to level up in others. I also struggle with the speed of the game (not wanting to spend silver planes to speed things up in 2.0, whereas it was free before).

The way you get rewards is by completing a contract. You know you have completed it when all small aircraft icons on the planes card show up as either green or red. After you complete handling of a plane and it reaches this milestone, either by going to the contract menu or clicking on the contact icon on the planes card, you can claim rewards.
It usually consists of XP, SP, an extension, and an upgrade. If you have delayed the plane too much, you may loose and of these rewards.
Each time you complete handling of an aircraft, one of the small plane icons on the card will change from grey to either green or red. Green means you handled it on time, red means you didn’t. Each time you get an upgrade, you have to fill in one more plane icon before you can get your rewards, though with an increased amount of SP and XP, you are making slightly more per handling. You can do this to a maximum of ten icons, and will no longer receive upgrades as a reward.
At level 10 is where you make the most SP and XP when dividing it by the number of handlings to get your per handling rate, so the higher level contract, the less you want to cancel it.

The game is MUCH slower than1.5, that’s true. Each airport takes between 100 and 200 hours to get to max level

I see theres an option to speed up for 15 mins w 100 SP, anyone tried and is it worth it?
and 100 to 200 hours is a lot… the cool down period to redeem 10 gold coins using 10k sp is also a bit long

I came back to 2.0 aftera year or two hiatus.
I would recommend SXM as a “starting point” for 2.0.
You can mine silver planes from your IAD such that 45 for accelerated landing is nothing.
If you have Gold Planes from the 1.0 era I would also highly recommend the Premium Pass at each new airport.
