Model Aircraft (Sharepoint)

Beautiful

How much you spend money and time on it? It looks great.

Time wise, I just cut and stuck the mat to the board in about half an hour last night. Double sided carpet tape saves the messing around with glue and makes it a lot quicker. Money wise I honestly don’t have a clue, as I purchased the terminal set and sold a sizeable chunk of the unused pieces off. Only thing I can say is probably a fair bit if you include all the models. That Jet2 A330 wasn’t cheap…

Still got plenty of work to do on it, mostly landside.

Looks absolutely sublime!
Superb work! Btw… how much did that Jet2 A330 cost…

Working on an ILS box for my airport. Made the pole thingys by cutting up and drawing on a Q-Tip

Ordering modelling grass tomorrow btw so i’ll get round to sticking it on next weekend.

If I’m not mistaken, around £150 (got £10 off it when you could spend nectar points on eBay, so £140) . Sometimes I kick myself for selling my original one I had a few years ago…

You very rarely see them go on sale, so it was a case of get it or let it slide and probably not get one.

Dang. There still any aircraft your looking for?

The only ones I really am looking for now is the NG First Choice 757, Thomson Airways 757 and Monarch A300 by Phoenix, others I’m hoping someone will eventually make.

One of the benefits about modelling an Airport in the Canaries is you get quite the variety of airlines so can make numerous smaller airports using existing models.

Are there any features you would like to add to the landside like radar dish or connecting the airport with the semi abounded railway that you once mentioned.

Railways I’m not bothering with, I’m in the process of selling off all my model railway stuff at the moment.

Essentially I just plan on putting some sand around the airside areas (gaps where the mat doesn’t cover the board) and use an older mat I’ve got spare to make the roads landside. There are minibuses currently sat where I plan to have drop off and pick ups with the coaches in the bottom left where I’m going to put an area for coaches to pick up and drop off people for resort transfers. Might separate that area having somewhere for minibuses to park and regular coaches to park, but that I’ll look into when I get around to doing it.

I also need to look into some set up for an ATC tower, I’ve got a small one but ideally I want something which looks a bit more interesting.

Sould i make jetways

You can! I myself am looking for one of those JC wings Jetbridges as @ukplanespotter757 is looking for. Just for the widebody gate however.
Also i’m looking for a European airport to recreate. I have a spare room in my house and might make a place for one.
