Hey everyone. So I’m at level 50 at BKK now and I wanted to ask whether to grind MSY after I unlock it or buy GRU for gp and grind there. How long on average does it take to reach GRU in MSY with ~30-40 player contracts and you own fleet? I know you shouldn’t be buying airports for GP, but I want to do it so I’m closer to HKG.
msy is a verrrrryyyyyyyyy slow grind, if your fine with that, go through msy, if not, get GRU
exactly the kind of response I wanted to hear ![]()
If you want to unlock HKG without paying any GP you have to go through all of these. You can go to HKG later if you cannot unlock it on the next update day, there won’t be too much to lose if you unlock that later, maybe just few special arrivals, but they will be available some time later.
But I don’t feel it would be possible to grind multiple airports in a row, just in a month.
So if you want to have a relaxing play time and if you don’t mind to pay for airport, save it and buy HKG would be the best idea.
MSY isn’t too bad if you understand how the taxi works so you always assign all C planes to stands that can use the other runway to depart.
GRU is very tiring if you are looking for the maximum efficiency. You must manually do line up and take off to maximize landings. But it is a good airport in many ways except that issue.
So my suggestion is, skip both (see if you are happy to buy SCL, then you will be very close to HKG and you just need to work on 1 airport!).
I found SYD to be too slow to grind, bought GRU and found the same so I just flat out bought SCL lol. Not a grind at all that airport, very enjoyable and I’m ready for HKG now. I’d second your statement here.
SYD isn’t that slow honestly, granted the second runway would help a lot
SYD is now a little bit better than MSY, because we have now 9 E and 3 D stands, which are using the second RWY for departing. In MSY i have used only C passanger stands and there was some C stands, which used arriving RWY for departing also. But now with new schedule system it is possible that stands (next near cargo Terminal).
The second runway really would help, I like to do my routes realistically so all international traffic goes to the west side and has to use the same runway to leave. Really slows things down lmao. I still like both GRU and SYD unlike NGO which I find grindy and not fun to play.
i unlocked SYD (i have BRI, PRG, IAD and SYD my newest airport which i think is a mistake) and i have given up until i max out IAD… so getting other airport with GP when you have another BIG airport is a mistake just grind and get airports normally thats all im saying
Thanks for that! The thing is that I WAS considering just getting SCL, but I want mostly all of the airports in the game so I don’t want to do that. My final decision is coming to just unlocking GRU and filling MSY with IRL contracts. I’ll give it another week, I’m sitting at 82 GP
MSY wasn’t a particularly slow airport in my opinion. I ground it mostly using A21N player contracts with IAD, SXM, and SAN, and it’s probably even better now with contract opportunities to send planes with SCL and GRU. Now with stand blocking, you can more easily force planes into stands with separate runways for landing and takeoff so its flows really nicely now.
GRU is quite speedy to grind with 30-40 player A388s and B748Fs being rotated through the F stands though, so for all the downsides to the crossing runways and airport taxi layout, it could be a lot worse.
Regardless though – every airport has a direction you can take that works pretty well to grind efficiently. Just gotta fit your contracts to the airport as opposed to just forcing large planes through it even when that’s not what it’s built for. If your goal is to speed your way towards HKG though, I may just buy it when it comes out. The runway and taxi layouts look really intriguing and nice to work with, and then you can keep working through the old airports at your pace. Speaking from experience trying to catch up on large airport after large airport after large airport can easily result in burnout – so if you want an airport, buy the one you want, and then you can catch up on the others for free!
Thank you for everyone’s suggestions. My decision has come to buying GRU when I can afford it’s premium pass.
would it be the same for GRU over Sydney? I’m also wandering if it would be better to save for HKG than buy another airport
I would say to save for HKG. As probably less than a month is left for it and you can save up to that much amount (if possible) where you can purchase the airport plus it’s premium pass as well collectively.
How much will honkkong be? And is premium worth GP?
Sorry I had to correct it multiple time I have a bandaid and it’s making it impossible to type
Well, premium pass can not be predicted on how good will it be until it finally comes with airport. Secondly, I can’t remember exactly which post it was but in it other players have predicted HKG and it’s premium pass prices.
Alright, my guess is probably 140 GP because of its size and also probably 20 GP to buy the airport but this is guessing I have no idea on how much it will be
I would say 120 Gp for premium and gp ranging between 20-30 for the airport ![]()
30GP sounds like a lot and 120… we’ll that sounds better then getting it at IAD for 110… im still amazed at how expensive it is at IAD!
