[Multiplayer] – Allow Different Airline Names for Each Airport

Multiplayer – Multiple Airline Names per Airport

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?

Hello Flyboys Games Team,

My name is Adriano, and I am an active World of Airports player. First of all, congratulations for the amazing work on the game. I really enjoy managing my airports and expanding my virtual airline.

I would like to suggest a new feature for future updates:

Currently, players can only use one airline name for all airports. I suggest allowing players to create different virtual airline names for each airport they operate.

For example, a player could manage:

• One airline name in GRU

• Another airline name in LHR

• A different one in NGO

This would allow players to simulate airline groups, regional subsidiaries, or partner brands.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?

In the airline profile section, there could be an option to:

• Set a custom airline name per airport.

• Keep the current global airline name as default.

• Optionally customize logo or abbreviation per airport (if possible in future updates).

When selecting an airport, the airline name displayed on aircraft, flight lists, and profile would automatically match the name assigned to that specific airport.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?

This feature would:

• Increase realism.

• Improve immersion.

• Allow more creativity and roleplay.

• Let players simulate real-world airline groups with subsidiaries.

• Add more personalization without affecting game balance.

I believe this would add more depth and long-term engagement for dedicated players.

Example: A player operating:

• Adriano Airlines (GRU)

• Adriano Europe (LHR)

• Adriano Asia (NGO)

I think this could be interesting, like having an IGN, and then another field like a “surname” to differentiate between hubs.

Thank you for the comment, Matejake!

That’s a really good idea — using the main name (IGN) and adding a “last name” to differentiate the hubs. I think it would be a simple and well-organized solution to implement in the game.

This way, the player keeps their identity while also being able to personalize each airport. It would be practical and wouldn’t affect the game balance.

Let’s see if the team at Flyboys Games considers this possibility in a future update!

It would be interesting to see how player connections would be handled, because having to remember multiple airline IGNs for one person could get a bit weird, but it could probably be done.

Personally I don’t really see the point in having multiple IGNs per profile, especially since you only see the IGN in player connections, where it is simpler the way it is now.

I also assume that when the livery customization features are out, you should be able to differentiate between your branches on the planes themselves more easily, so that’s definitely something to consider as well

I’m wondering if this is better implemented as part of the livery customization feature. Here’s what I’d propose:

  1. One IGN for connections. Otherwise this just gets painful to have to remember 17 airline names per individual, with that number increasing as more airports are added.

  2. Perhaps instead of the livery including the IGN of the player on the name. we can customize said text to be something else. For example, instead of CJRVWilliams420 being on the side of my planes, I’d be able to customize it to my “lore” airline names of Weed Air [Basic, most airports], Kraken Express [Regional Carrier, SXM based], Orion Air [Alliance operated segment of my fleet]

  3. Each of these additional livery customizations would cost GP to unlock.

That’s likely how it will work, as the dev screenshots were not the same text as their account names

Thank you for your detailed feedback Denis Martinek!

I understand your point about player connections and keeping things simple. It’s true that having multiple names could potentially create some confusion if not implemented carefully.

My idea was mainly focused on adding more realism and immersion, especially for players who enjoy creating airline groups or regional subsidiaries. I agree that the system would need to clearly display the main account name to avoid confusion.

You’re also right about aircraft customization — that could already help with differentiation. Still, I think having optional naming flexibility per hub could add another layer of creativity without affecting gameplay balance.

Definitely something interesting to think about!

That’s actually a very interesting approach CJ RVWilliams!

I agree that keeping a single IGN for connections would definitely avoid confusion between players. Your idea of integrating this into the livery customization system makes a lot of sense, especially since it would allow fictional airline branding without affecting the core player identity.

My original suggestion was more focused on hub-based identity at a system level, but combining it with customizable aircraft text could be a very practical compromise.

Either way, I think giving players more creative freedom — whether through naming or liveries — would really enhance immersion.

Great suggestion!
