Muscat or Heathrow

Could someone write me the - and + of both of these airports?

Muscat:
Pros:
Has 2 runways which can both land and takeoff planes
Has many regional L planes
The free pass gives many unique liveries that are not normally obtainable

Cons:
Has a very small cargo apron
Pretty boring premium pass that doesnt have much value (60gp)

London heathrow
Pros:
Most amount of stands in the game
Really good money maker
Has a very good and profitable premium pass (80gp)
Quick progression

Cons
Only has one runway for landings and one runway for takeoffs
Has bad local and regional contracts

Just my take on it:

LHR:
Positive: Easy airport with easy lay-out. Lot’s of stands with enough Handlers, especially great for L and X planes.
Negative: Only one runway for Landings. If Cargo stands and stands south of the landing runway are used it requires runway crossing causing less landings.

MCT:
Positive: Dual landings possible while still an easy layout, good for L and X contracts. Also most M planes can reach quite some airports.
Negative: North side of apron is causing runway crossings for L planes. Limited number of Handlers to cover 2 landing runways.

I don’t completely agree with that con for LHR
Most planes on the south side cross while the landing aircraft is still on the runway and landing planes usually land before the next plane needs to cross in sequence

It depends on how you play i guess, i usually use controllers. They’ll send the plane to cross whenever it arrives at the point. In that case it’s often causing a delay in the arrival runway. Which is why i don’t use the southern stands for anything but cargo. (Or if i incorrectly have the auto gate assignment active)

I use controllers as well and never has my landings been affected by crossing planes, because a landing plane has priority over crossing planes so a plane will cross if a landing plane already ran past it on landing but that’s not supposed to affect the flow of landing because once the landing plane is off the runway, the next plane lands and the crossing always waits

If you always use controllers, i’m 100% sure your landings have been affected. Yes the landing takes priority, however the ‘issue’ exists when the landing plane is already passed the threshold and near to exit the runway. If at that time a crossing plane arrives at the crossing point, it will start crossing directly (As the landing plane is behind the threshold). Once the landing plane has cleared the runway, the crossing plane is still occupying the runway, therefore delaying the next incoming landing.

Yes the problem is small, but with only 1 landing runway a lot of people don’t use the southern stands for exactly this reason.

+1 that don’t use southern terminal and have seen the runway crossing delaying landings. There are 2 main problems with the ATC:

  1. runway crossing do not start as soon as possible. It starts when the landing plane is about to clear the runway. You can see the airplane crossing being available for manual crossing for a long while before it starts crossing automatically. Select him and you’ll see.
  2. when 2 or more planes are waiting to cross, they’ll all cross, completely stopping the landing until done.
