I think we should have a date for when we unlocked something in WOApedia
Iād like to see some new BGM soon. I think it would be nice to have special BGM for when itās raining, special BGM for when itās snowing, and different BGM for each airport.
Forgive me - what is BGM?
BackGround Music =BGM
My thoughts after playing 3.0.0 for three days
I want to start by saying that I am pointing out very minute details within the new update, and while it may seem like I am trying to be negative, I really just want to state my opinion. I think 3.0 was by far a net positive and regardless of any changes I trust the devs plan for the future of the game.
The new UI
General:
I know this has come up a lot in other posts, but the update scaled down font size, icons, buttons, etc. This has the obvious problem of being harder to read (but imo that is not a big problem), but I will sometimes tap one button (especially when servicing a plane) multiple times to eventually hit the correct spot. Mostly I think Iāll just adjust to the new scale quickly - but difficult on a 4 1/2 inch screen. Note that this was greatly improved by 3.0.1.
I love the new icons! They look clean and fit in with the game. I also like how the boxes are semi-see through (faint - maybe 95% opacity) but I nice detail. While I think the dark theme fits in worse in some airports, definitely an overall positive. I like the new font better - though not as iconic I think it works well.
Airplane cards (both list on right, and more detailed on left):
I like how there are more planes shown, though again scale is a bit small. Event/player/fleet is a good distinction. I think that the handling progress bar being moved over from 2.6 is also good. I did like the distinction between craft facts (dark blue) and handling info (light blue) on the old UI, but I think itās fine.
I think that the large cards feel a bit cluttered, with a whole section for either confirming an action, or just the handling icons already displayed. I love the new contract display format, and the mini-game/ground handlers. I do feel like there could be switches on the card rather than a separate menu for mini-games with a better design. I do feel like a whole space for the manufacturer logo is unnecessary, and I think that the stand could be placed elsewhere, maybe where the warning sign is right now as it feels unnecessary. Both of the estimated/current bars (from 2.6 and 3.0 respectively) have their benefits and disadvantages. My biggest issue is that that the two 3.0 bars are usually on different paces, so if it looks like estimated is behind the current, it could still be on time. I think that overlapping them (green, then how much extra time you have continuing from it, or red and no other bar), or just having them on the same pace would be good.
Filters:
I really like the addition of fleet/player/event filters, I used to favorite/heart all player and fleet planes to create a sort of custom filter, so itās awesome not to need to do that. I think that having a few filters for assigning stands, landing aircraft, and planes being handled would be a huge improvement.
Contracts page
I think it looks really clean and the new graphics are much more readable. The only thing I could find to point out was the removal of some color, mainly the international/regional/local all having their own colors removing color, though a very minor thing.
Stand pins
I think I prefer this to the old system, especially with up to 7 sizes rather than just 4, and they have a nice clean look. The only thing I donāt like is scale. When you zoom out, they stay the same size and it becomes hard to see/click individual gates. I think scaling them can be overdone though, so it is important to put a cap on the size. This can be even more of a problem when in 2D mode, which I often use for assigning stands.
Airport selection screen, WoAPeadia, loading screens, and homepage
The airport selection screen is a massive improvement, especially being able to see events and having, in general, more details about an airport before starting to play it. I really have no criticism for this. The WoAPeadia didnāt get changed too much, but I think it fits in and overall looks really clean. The homepage GREAT, it looks so much cleaner and I especially like how you can scroll through recent additions to the WoAPeadia.
The loading screen is very similar to the old one, just at GRU rather than PRG. I think it would nice if the plane was at a gate rather than a taxiway, but not a big deal. Maybe having a different loading screen for each airport and cycling through? This wasnāt in 2.0 but could be a good addition.
Overall, this has to be one of, if not the best update in the games history. Iām used to the controls (mostly) now, and I think itās a MASSIVE improvement. Just as a note, I had the needs action filter in here pre-3.0.1, and want to say thank you for fixing it! Hats off to the devs, and THANK YOU. This was an unreal update.

And its our tribute to Top Gun movie which was in the fact the first beginning of our passion for aviation, there everything started
Was it? Personally military didnāt get me into aviation. Also not really a tribute to top gun⦠Itās the USS midway in San Diego. Pretty sure it was stationed around the middle east during its time operating. Now itās just a really cool museum!
The f14 is 100% a top gun reference/tribute because of the fact it buzzes the tower (mavās signature move) and also just the fact it was literally added when top gun: maverick was in theaters
Carrier though yeah thatās not the reference
Why I said not really. As itās not an exact reference.
First and foremost I just want to thank the devs for keep making the game better and better. No words can describe how many countless hours you guys have put in to make this all happen. Iāve been playing 3.0.1 for quite a while now and am slowly getting used it. I do have a few suggestions for future updates however:
- Earn as you go contracts - not to be confused with p2p contracts, this is referring to airport specific contracts that we receive as we level up. Once we max out a contract (10/10) it would be ideal if earning exp is based on a earn as you go mentality. This means that instead for handling the airplane 10/10 every time to get a big exp, you can do the earn as you go approach so that you earn exp faster.
- Visual touch up - the runway approach lights can only be seen from certain angles which is not that big of a deal but it would be nice to see it actually working as the aircraft is approaching. The wigwags are nice but it could look a bit nicer rather than just 2 yellow dots flashing left and right on the ground. Again, small details.
- Radio/ATC communications - this oneās huge, in 2.0, the radio/ATC was good but the voice wasnāt clear enough. In 3.0, the voice is great, but the jargon is completely off. Phonetic alphabets were used incorrectly or not used at all, and the pronunciation of some airline names are off too. Also, thereās no read back from the crew anymore.
Other than that, the game is great! Oh, and I think itās time to introduce a Canadian airport. We have airports in almost every continent except North America (Canada). But thereās no rush, you guys have done enough and deserve some good rest.
Any idea we can add stand preference when we use auto assign? Current random one is good, but maybe we can add a jet bridge/area preference so they can be filled up first? I find that useful for airports like BKK, MCT and LHR where some part of the airport is very not efficient to run.
I came up with the idea of the ground crew equipment to have the logo and be painted in the Airline scheme you know airports like New Orleans has a Pacific scheme in Southwest for their ground crew equipment so why donāt we put on the airline scheme so it can exactly be like in exact airline paint scheme! (What I mean is that each airline that comes in your airport, your ground crew equipment should be painted in the scheme of that airline).
With the introduction of the airbus and boeing i think this should be expanded further to include airline packages.
The airline packages would allow players to purchase a package for world airlines for example easyjet. The easyjet package would give the users the ability to apply the easyjet brand to aircraft operated by that airline. This would allow users to play their favourite airline as their own fleet aircraft.
Given you have done all the hard work to produce the AI airlines in the game then this might be a good way to recoup cash for your work and expand the options for players.
Fleet fuel stops:
Such as the BA LHR-SIN-SYD route. But for your fleet!
Connection contract management
Overview for each airport of active inbound and outbound contracts.
All relevant data, who is it from, current stats, interval time between offering and accepting, that sort of things.
Like a new filter on the contract page? As we already have a map with all our active aircraft on
For pushbacks, Iād like to see the ramp agents on either side of aircraftās wings walk it out like irl.
