New Playable Airports - South America

Hello to all the players from Colombia, who among you would like to see the Eldorado International Airport in Bogotá added to the game? I would definitely be very excited about it.

  • Bogotá El Dorado Airport
  • Bogotá, Colombia
  • BOG
  • Two parallel runways of 3,800m
    4a. Passenger, cargo and military
  • See previous posts
5a. Avianca, LATAM, Clic, SATENA, Wingo, Aerosucre, Avianca Cargo, LATAM Cargo
  • Beyond dozens of domestic destinations: AMS, AUA, BCN, CCS, CDG, CUR, FRA, GYE, JFK, HAV, LAX, LIM, MAD, MEX, MIA, PTY, SCL, SDQ, UIO, YYZ
  • Bogotá, situated in the heart of Latin America, is very well-positioned to serve destinations in entire North and South America including the Caribbean. It is also well-served from Europe and could also be reached from Africa. We don’t yet have a playable South American airport in the game, so I think we need to give this priority. I think BOG is a better candidate than the likes of GRU, GIG and EZE, because from these three, a lot of Central American and Caribbean destinations are out of reach for middle-sized aircraft. BOG can possibly be connected to NGO as well, while GRU, GIG and EZE are too far away. BOG can easily be connected to SXM, SAN and IAD, as well as LHR, LEI and PRG. In real life, BOG is also served by special aircraft such as the B727 and there are Colombian airlines that still fly the DC-3. So BOG is an opportunity to add unique aircraft to the game.

It won’t be El Dorado, we already know that, apparently it will be Santiago de Chile That’s what they said the first time but I think they’re looking at other options now.

They did not confirm. If anything they said São Paulo. And even if that’s the one coming people can still recommend airports for the future

A post was split to a new topic: GIG - Rio de Janeiro

This one will be coming, a while ago I saw the developer said that this is on a priority in South America
Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport

Yes, we know the devs said it in Q and As and posts, but as the mods and others have said many times, it still can’t be taken at face value until it arrives in an update, especially with them caveating with “most probably”. Announced things from the devs end up getting cut or changed all the time.

Don’t take Q&A answers for gospel. Look at how long we were being told the 767 would be coming after all other remodels in Q&As, and would you believe what’s in game long before those remodels are complete…

I think the release of MSY should tell everyone not to assume anything. As I have said elsewhere nobody knew that was coming, even though it was on the original list 5 years ago.

The chances of a South American airport increase each time there is a release, so it’s likely to happen sooner. But absolutely no guarantee which airport is coming and when. I’ve heard of a couple of different ones, but as others have said. Never assume even if the devs say as much. The release schedule changes all the time

Jeez, mods are not in the mood today…

yep, you’re right buddy.

yeah, that is true hopefully they will launch a South American airport soon as it would be great to have one.

I thought SCL or CPT would come after SYD…

They said the CRJ remodel was going to happen BEFORE the dash-8 remodel…

“All remodels will come before new aircraft” Meanwhile we have the 767 and possibly a Fokker coming soon.

The list goes on.

Don’t forget the infamous “gear retraction will come after all v1’s are remodeled”…

Yep! Even huge game studios roll back plans or modify them (mojang…) and flyboys is NOT a large game studio. This is very much still a passion project as far as I can tell, and so anything can and will change at any point without notice. Even this most recent update was completely out of the blue with no warning for basically any of it. Many features that should have been with it weren’t (UI) and many that we had no clue were even on the radar did (767, MSY). And if things the developers have said themselves change without warning, NOTHING can be said for certain.

Well to be fair, they only did it cause everyone was nagging about it
I’d do it as well to have everyone stop messaging about the same thing over and over again :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:
