I’m going to be super clear here. DEL is on indefinite hold, which means it isn’t happening until such time as Unity changes their licensing policy or the devs find a way to make it work without going bankrupt.
Unless the Devs say specifically otherwise. This is the situation and it isn’t planning to change. So anybody speculating that DEL is still going to happen in the near future is sorely mistaken.
I know for a fact which airport is next as Kuba himself has told me. So everyone please understand the next airport is not going to be DEL and will not likely be any time soon.
Very simple, volume. The license was being switched to a per download option. With DEL the expectation was a ton of downloads but likely with not enough supporting revenue to offset that fee, given the game is free to download.
With LHR and other airports being contemplated that risk was a hell of a lot less, still would cost a lot more, but the supporting revenue would be a lot more in comparison
How are we defining “large” and “pretty big size?” Do airports like Gold Coast or Brisbane count? Or is it more on the mega-airport side like Sydney or maybe Auckland?
Sad to know that DEL is on indefinite hold, local airport for me. Would be glad if any other Indian airport can be included in near future though like BLR, BOM or a small one like IXE(Mangalore) which has a table top runway.
So a new airport is great, but what about the IAD rework? I would honestly rather see that first before a new airport, it’s really lagging behind the rest of the game in terms of quality.
I do think next update will be the A350-900 + -1000 and then IAD Rework with the A320. I believe devs mention that A320 will be done but they have to consider which variant (as in Sharklets or Standard). Both engine types are confirmed based on the in game achievement.
