Next Airport Speculation

For what its worth, Anchorage is the largest seaplane base in the world, which would make it a great spot to introduce that as a new thing.

Respectfully, I disagree. HNL still offers M connections with most aircraft being able to make the jump to NGO (And a few that can make it to SYD, which is important now that it’s confirmed).

We already have a cargo focused airport, which due to the extremely slow pace is not very interesting and I don’t think we need one for a long while. HNL is just objectively more interesting, having plenty of stands, being half built on an artificial island, having an attached Air Force/Navy base, a GA ramp that is also shared with some small airlines, and a seaplane terminal with two water runways.

I’m not saying ANC is a bad idea, I would be happy to see it eventually. But I just think HNL is much better for the next US airport if that’s the angle you’re going for.

True I was just being biased. Also there is already two u.s. airports in game so I thought a
Canadian airport would be a nice change of pace. However, I would still be fine with anchorage or honululu cuz they are technically not mainland u.s.

I just peaked again… and I realized the reason why I thought B752s and B38Ms couldn’t reach was because JRF icon totally covers HNLs unless you zoom all the way in!

Interesting information about HNL. Hawaii is the only US state I haven’t been to. Would be glad to see it (though I still have a preference for ANC as it is the largest sea base in the world. Lets go big or go home haha!)

Oh man, you’re missing out. It’s just stunning. The main island especially is just wild. In my personal ranking, it’s the coolest place in the US next to Yellowstone.

That’s totally fine, it’s just my thoughts on it. Bottom line, HNL and ANC are both unique airports that have a place in this game

Having lived on JBPHH (shared with HNL) I’m probably biased, but it would offer some of the same unique benefits and scenery that SXM does. Like you mentioned, the coral runway and seaplane aspect is wonderful, and plenty of local traffic for the beginning (HAL island hoppers like the B717). Also a great one with the abundance of connections all around the pacific M-X including the ability to handle A380s now. I’ve personally flown between HNL and the mainland many times, and even down to Aussie/NZ (Jetstar B788 on the way there, Qantas B744 on the way back).

You mean Jetstar? Cause jet2 having a 788 is already cursed, let alone the fact they would fly from HNL to Oceania instead of Britain

ANA A380s must be permanent contracts in some form if HNL gets added. It’s literally the only route they were ordered for

Could always use the A330s they lease off AirTanker
