Oman Air had previously operated 3 Boeing 737-700s, with this aircraft, registered as A4O-BS, in January 2002 and operated to destinations within the Middle East (BEY, DXB & KWI) and Asia (BLR & BOM) up until November 2014, when the aircraft was retired from service and replaced with the Boeing 737 MAX 8. The aircraft would be later operated by Southwest Airlines.
