Now it’s one landing and two take-offs. Can it be changed to two landings and two take-offs, and the two terminals will not interfere with each other?
Highly unlikely as the majority (which is generally the rule for WOA) of operations mirror what happens in real life. While SYD does offer dual in both respects at times, it’s a similar issue to LHR and the devs have not changed that one either.
Never say never but I give this a very low chance of happening
It doesn’t even come close to reality. SYD uses both runways for landing frequently. I don’t understand WOA putting airports with two runways in the game if it can’t be realistic. They should use airports with one runway, it would be more realistic. It’s my opinion. TKS
If RW16/34’s are active, then majority of the time ATC uses both runways for arrivals and departures. If this isn’t in WOA plans, I’d urge them to reconsider!
Take current ATIS at Sydney:
ATIS YSSY Q 141956
APCH: EXP INSTR APCH
RWY: 16L AND R FOR ARRS AND DEPS
SFC COND: RUNWAY 16R SURFACE CONDITION 5,5,5, WET,WET,WET.
RUNWAY 16L SURFACE CONDITION 5,5,5, WET,WET,WET
OPR INFO: INDEPENDENT PARL DEPARTURES IN PROGRESS
WIND: 200/5
VIS: 10 KM, REDUCED TO 6 KM IN SH
CLD: FEW005, BKN015
TMP: 15
QNH: 1018
In the future, there will be cases where airports WOA develops typically operate runways simultaneously for both arrivals and departures. What will devs do there? This could be a decent chance to try at Sydney at least in preparation for future cases.
At higher levels at Sydney, if nothing is changed, I assume this will start to cause bottleneck at A1 holding point for 16R departures. Having landings on both would certainly alleviate the flow.
I’ll still continue to love and play the game regardless of outcome, but if talking realism then certainly should consider updating this
At a higher level it does indeed operate identically to a one runway airport like ngo
Sorry not sure what you mean? I’ve only ever seen them operate as single runway during 27 ops, or within an hour of curfew time.
He’s talking about in game, as only one runway is used for landings, like a one runway airport, and at high levels where you handle a lot of L/X, and all of the cargo taking off from the same runway, the vast majority of planes are taking off from 16R, effectively acting as a single runway airport.
