Many players like real airline liveries, and would love to play the game as their favourite airline. The game developers would not need to undertake any additional work as they do this work for the AI aircraft in the game already. This method would also be an additional income to the game developers without any increase in work load.

Makes me wonder what kind of regulations and agreements will be implemented with the custom livery designer so that people arenât infringing copyrights for real airlines and liveries.
I get all of the above, but given real life airline brands are already used in the game then I canât understand why this would be any different to whatâs in the game already
I doubt that would be an issue. Youâre spending in-game currency to create a livery similar to a real one being dissimilar to you purchasing a contract with silver. The package the chap at the top is proposing however, is one youâd have to spend real cash on and that would come with licensing I would presume.
If I buy gold planes and then convert them to dollars and purchase an AI contract to my airport for say Delta Airlines, I just purchased delta airlines brand in game. The proposal doesnât make any change to the status of the game, but merely allows you an additional option in the hangar to apply an airline of your choice to your fleet aircraft. These bundles could easily be purchased for wollars instead of gold coins if that makes things easierfor WOA
The difference is with the pack youâve suggested akin to the Airbus and Boeing pack in-game is that they can only be purchased for money and that would result in the need for a license. I agree with the idea that we should be able to run our owned aircraft in an airlineâs livery in-game, say my 744âs at LHR should be able to wear the BA one but that can be done for free, which is permissible and doesnât require licensing.
Actually, if youâre operating at LHR and want to send me one of your 744s to IAD in BA colours you cannot do that currently in the game. You can of course operate all routes from LHR by buying AI contracts using wollars. Wollars as you know can be earned via game play or purchased using gold planes, but you canât add the BA brand to your own aircraft. This idea could easily be a purchase by wollars instead of gold planes. I canât see the difference between purchasing a BA 744 contract from IAD to LHR with wollars in current game play and a player applying a BA brand to their own aircraft and operating it on the IAD/LHR route. If licencing is an issue I canât see the difference sorry!
So letâs say you buy the bundles by wollars then and not hard cash. A British Airways contract for a B787 between IAD and LHR may cost you 10w, so why canât we buy the BA livery with wollars and apply it to one of my own aircraft. Nothing new to the game still getting a BA livery aircraft on the route IAD to LHR, but I own the aircraft. If it breaks trademark rules one way it must the other also.
i donât think youâre understanding the issue and I think itâs likely due to the confusion caused by your original post. Based on your comments I agree and itâs definitely something the devs could do but your post implies you would want a âpackâ akin to the paid for Airbus/Boeing packs which wouldnât be possible as youâd need licensing to be able to sell them for real money.
You might wish to re-word your suggestion to better show what you mean.
No i understand the issue, my idea is to package up airlines into bundles like the Airbus and Boeing bundles, however people through discussion have suggested this will not be possible due to licensing, therefore as they say in the UK âthere is more than one way to skin a catâ and im therefore exploring alternatives ways to get to the end result on the part we both agree which is operating your fleet with your favourite airline brand
Making real airline liveries directly purchasable would require renegotiating and reworking contracts with every single airline individually, along with significantly increased administrative, legal, and operational effort. In addition, each purchase would introduce ongoing costs that would make this approach economically unviable for us.
For these reasons, real airlines will remain available exclusively through contracts and regular gameplay progression, not as individual purchasable liveries.
