[Other] - Edit Stands While Occupied

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
Allow buying new sizes and changing the allowed types while the stand is occupied.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
Remove the current block. If the idea is that the stand needs to be empty to be repainted, do it like plane maintenance and shut it down for 15 minutes after the current plane leaves.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
It’s annoying to have to wait for a plane to leave especially if it has a long handling. Plus needing to turn off/on delivery manager.

The current way doesn’t add realism since the airport manager can change the future schedule while planes are in the airport. And the stand can be immediately used after the change is ordered so it’s not construction time.

Yes! Please allow us to Upgrade stands whether it’s occupied or not. Sometimes planes never show up for the stand it apparently is occupying the entire time I’m playing. I’ve even caught an airplane being backed out of a stand, and still couldn’t upgrade the stand after it had left…?

It can be frustrating to see a stand that cannot be used for a bigger aircraft, because you can never upgrade it. We should be able to at least spend the wollars to upgrade a stand even if it is occupied, so that it eventually can be used for aircraft you want.

If you have the tower manager on it will keep assigning the gate to new planes. Simply pause the Delivery and upgrade.

Paused but not able to upgrade any upgradable stands…? Any other suggestions.

When I’ve first loaded up the game and selected an airport, I’ve chosen not to activate any tower manager options. Even then i cannot upgrade stands both in Prague or Heathrow, and Washington. What am I missing…?

I like the idea of taking time to prepare stand for bigger airplanes.

Maybe there can be a switch that marks stands as Scheduled for reconstruction. When marked, neither the delivery manager nor player can assign plane to that stand. After currently occupied plane leaves, the upgrade/reconstruction can begin.

This can be used for stand maintenance feature that I think I saw was announced…

There is an airplane assigned to that stand/gate. When you open the game, look through the arrival list for the contract assigned to that stand/gate you want to adjust and land it first. Handle it, wait for it to clear the stand/gate. Then, upgrade or adjust the stand/gate as you wish before assigning another flight to it. You’ll have to do this for each one you want to change if you can’t catch them empty otherwise.

You’re talking about just scrolling through the list of planes on the game window till you see the one assigned to the gate in question… thank you I will give that a try. Appreciate the response.

The gate is 54 in PRG it currently accommodates A & B class airplanes. I have neither class in passenger planes, so it must be an A or B class plane from the contracts other then my own. When scrolling through contracts with a or b class planes it doesn’t show gates or stands. Am I still missing something?

Playing window, not planing window.

Found the airplane!!! Finally success! I do wish we could segregate plane classes, gates, etc. on the planing window. I think we could do plane classes in earlier versions of the game. Thanks for your help.

Yes! This would be such a nice quality of life upgrade if implemented!
