What is your suggestion?
Introduction of seasonal flight schedules divided into summer flight schedules and winter flight schedules.
How would it work in the game?
Seasonal flight schedules divide flight availability into the summer and winter seasons. Airlines adjust their capacities and routes to seasonal fluctuations in demand, especially for holiday destinations. Flight schedules are usually published several months in advance and can be viewed on the airport and airline websites. What are summer and winter flight schedules? Summer flight schedule: Typically runs from the end of March to the end of October and is aligned with daylight saving time. Popular holiday destinations such as the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, and Greece are served more frequently in the summer flight schedule. Winter flight schedule: Runs from the end of October to the end of March and is aligned with the change to winter time. During this period, some seasonal routes are discontinued, while other destinations, such as ski resorts or long-haul flights, are offered more frequently.
When are seasonal flight schedules published? Publication dates vary by airline, but are usually released many months in advance to allow travelers to plan and book early. Schedules for the summer season are often published in the fall of the previous year. Schedules for the winter season are often published in the spring or early summer.
Why do seasonal flight schedules exist? Seasonality in aviation reflects fluctuations in demand. Airlines adjust their capacities and prices to remain profitable. Peak travel times, holidays, and weather conditions influence which routes are served most frequently.
In our game, it could be implemented as follows: During each season, there will be various destinations on our map, and these destinations will change as soon as the next season begins. This gives us great variety in the game and, once again, pure realism. And itβs exciting because the routes and aircraft at the airport, as well as the operations, change in each season. This suggestion, along with the one I recently presented with real-time daytimes, could also be combined to create a great update that simply brings these features to market, a kind of spring update
Why is this a good idea?
As always, it is realistic, authentic and brings great variety to the game.
Optional: Image or reference
These images are simply meant to represent the sessional flight schedules. There are more destinations available in the summer flight schedule than in the winter flight schedule. In winter, the selection is also smaller, and therefore there are fewer destinations available. This could also be implemented in the game. Of course, the adaptation to the real time of day and the current situation would also be appropriate.
