What is your suggestion?
Suggest adding a LV1-LV3 tier system to ALL gates (regardless of whether they are remote or contact stands). The tier defines the gate’s facility level, handling capacity, and automation capability, working alongside the existing A-G size codes.
How would it work in the game?
1.Tier Definitions (decoupled from gate type)
- LV1 (Basic Gate): Core services only (fuel/baggage), max 2 ground crew teams, no automation, longer turnaround times.
- LV2 (Upgraded Gate): Full basic services + catering/cleaning, max 3 ground crew teams, partial automation (basic services auto-assigned).
- LV3 (Premium Gate): All services + de-icing/cargo support, max 4 ground crew teams, full automation + coordinator priority scheduling.
Example: A fully upgraded LV3 remote stand can be more efficient than a basic LV1 contact gate.
2. Upgrade Mechanism: Gates level up based on real operational performance (on-time rate, passenger volume, handling efficiency) – no pay-to-win purchases.
3. Integration: Works with the existing coordinator system, upcoming ground crew rework, and future custom airport tools.
Why is this a good idea?
1. Matches real airport logic: In real life, a gate’s facility level (not just its location) determines its efficiency.
2. Fixes current gameplay pain points: Eliminates the “stack permanent crew” meta by tying efficiency to gate upgrades instead of raw crew numbers.
3. Adds strategic choice: Players can choose to invest in upgrading low-cost remote stands or premium contact gates, rather than being forced to prioritize bridge gates.
4. Scales with future updates: This system is fully compatible with upcoming features like custom airports and large hub operations.
