Why should this airport be added to World of Airports?
The hub of Azores Airlines and perfectly distanced to receive both European and North American short haul aircraft at the same airport. Limited size as well so no F aircraft, biggest aircraft I believe has visited is the 777-200 which I feel makes it more interesting, however, the 747 might be able to use if loaded lightly on a shorter journey as the AN124 visited.
Major Airlines & Routes
Azores Airlines, Ryanair () and TAP.
Delta used to fly there with their 757 fleet.
Unique Features or Challenges
Very windy and wet and a setup similar to SXM with a long taxi up and down the runway
