unlocking and buying planes

By Pleski221cz

As you progress through World of Airports, many players eventually want to get their own planes to create fleets.
This adds different dynamics to your game play as you can choose to either create an authentic or wanted route network from your chosen airport or create connection partnerships with other players or both.

In WoA, there are two ways of getting your own planes.

The first are the ‘free’ planes that you earn from the airport pass within the airport you play as you progress by collecting XP. You can also buy the premium pass with GP to get even more.
NOTE: Most planes have a tag with the airport you’re playing. Those can only be claimed at that airport. If there isn’t a tag, it can be claimed at any airport, though you can’t move planes between airports, so choose wisely.

When you decide to start your own fleet, head to the Plane Store where you will find all purchasable planes in game.

All planes in WoA require GP (Gold Planes) to unlock them. The amount of GP required to unlock each plane rises with the value of the plane.

You can also add a livery for your new plane, should you wish and also change the seating configuration to maximise the plane’s profits on routes it can fly on.
You only need to buy the first plane with GP and wollars . Following planes only cost wollars.
Once purchased, the plane will be ready to land at your airport immediately, if you have the correct stand for it.

Other reasons to consider buying your own planes:

  1. It requires the same amount of ground crew to handle your own plane as an identical generic plane.
  2. Often, your own plane will take less time than a generic plane to handle.
  3. The wollar reward for handling your own plane is much higher than that for an identical generic plane. For example, the reward for handling an generic 77W is between 1900 - 2100 Wollars. A properly configured own 77W can earn 5 times more, others 3 to 4 times more.

For comparison, this is about the same as a generic A388 gets you.

Error when sending

By @TechnocraticAviation

You may encounter an internal error when sending your own planes to another player. This may be because the other player has not updated to the latest version yet. Please ensure the other player has updated to the most recent version and try again. If it still does not work, please send an email to support@flyboys.games about the issue.

Selling fleet aircraft

By @TechnocraticAviation

To sell your fleet aircraft, begin by going to the “Fleet” page, then going to “My Fleet” tab in the toolbar below. The button have been outlined by red rectangles

_ _
Next, find the contract card of the fleet aircraft you want to sell. Flip the contract card to show more information. This can be done by pressing the curved arrow button, as outlined by the red square in the image below.

_ _
If your aircraft has already been assigned a contract, you will need to cancel the contract. To do that, press the “Cancel” button outlined by the red rectangle shown below.

_ _
After that, or otherwise, the “Sell” button will appear in place of the “Cancel” button. Press the “Sell” button to sell your aircraft, which the button is shown by the red rectangle in the image below. Once the “Sell” button is pressed, you will no longer own the aircraft, and you will receive Wollars with an amount same as the selling value of the aircraft.

_ _
If your aircraft was assigned a contract previously and it has been parked at a stand, the “Sell” button will turn slightly transparent, and the aircraft will disappear from the “My Fleet” page once the aircraft has been pushed back from the stand. Otherwise, the aircraft disappears from the page immediately.

Why does my new A350 need a small check?

By @TechnocraticAviation

The only aircraft able to fly between Washington (IAD) and Sydney (SYD) are A35K and A359. When starting a direct player contract on the route with a new aircraft, a small check is required before the flight can begin.

This is because the required Maintenance Points (MP) to complete the contract is greater than the Maintenance Points until the small check. When a new aircraft is purchased, it has 100 MP until a small check must be performed. As one roundtrip requires 10.67 MP, and a direct player contract has 10 flights, meaning 10.67 * 10 = 106.7 MP is required to complete the contract. This is greater than the existing 100 MP.

Once the small check has been completed, the aircraft will require 200 MP before performing the next check, therefore it has enough to complete the contract.

Player contracts

By Pleski221cz

Player contracts are a type of direct contracts, between two players, these can be arranged in 2 ways:

  1. You have your own planes, and they travel to your partner.
  2. Your partner has planes, and they travel to you. Your partner needs your username or game ID, you can find both in the game. Your partner needs to follow the same instructions below. To start this contract, you simply have to accept your partner’s offer in the Contract offers menu.

Firstly, you have to land your plane, once its at the gate, click the “Assign contract” button

Having clicked this button, you should end up on a map screen, on this screen, click on one of the blue (playable) airports, After doing that, it should look somewhat like this:

Now click on the “assign” button, at your airport (make sure that there aren’t any wollars next to it, that would mean it’s not an playable airport). After clicking, your screen should look like this:

You can write your partner’s in game name in the box on the left of the screen, After having done that, click “Send request”:

You should now be back in your game, having this screen, This means that partner has to accept, after your contract partner accepts, you should be able to start handling. If not, restart the game.
