AeroBlue acquires their first Boeing 757-300
Welcome to “Willi”
With the retirement of the B753 at Condor on November 5, 2025, these airframes faced an unknown future.
As a major South American airline, AeroBlue is initiating constant market studies that lately revealed a high passenger demand for Carribean destinations such as Saint Martin or Punta Cana. However, with the structure of their current fleet, Aeroblue is not able to serve that demand sufficiently, a rather large narrow-body aircraft type seems to be missing their portfolio.
“When we first saw the offer for the former Condor 757-300s, we were sceptical if this type is really matching the goals of our airline. These planes are nearly 30 years old. However, Condor kept them in a good condition and we also needed to act fast in order to adapt our fleet to the high passenger demand to the Carribean. We think that we not only found a sustainable but also a cheap and fast solution with the integration of the Boeing 757-300 in our fleet.”
These are the latest words the AeroBlue CEO gave towards the given topic at a press conference yesterday.
Today, on February 14, 2026, the long awaited moment finally came! With the former Condor D-ABON, now registered as CC-FQH, the first Boeing 757-300 owned by AeroBlue touched down at their hub in Santiago. Unfortunately, the airframe lost its special “Wir lieben Fliegen” paintwork and now serves a shiny snow white livery. However, it will soon be painted in the regular AeroBlue livery.

The Boeing 757 strategy
“The Boeing 757 continously grows more important for our fleet strategy. They simply have the perfect size for our hubs in Sao Paulo and Santigo. These planes give us the ability to serve holiday destinations in the Carribean and smaller citys in the United States. From Sao Paulo, there are also potential routes to Africa we want to establish with the Boeing 757.”
CC-FQH is the first of five Boeing 757-300 AeroBlue is receiving from Condor in total. These planes will be mostly operated from Santiago, while the shorter 757-200 is already operated from both Santiago and Sao Paulo in large numbers.

Personal words from the CEO
“We at AeroBlue always love to see different airlines at our hubs in Santiago and Sao Paulo. Not only does it strengthen our economical situation but it is also a great way to form long lasting partnerships in the airline industry! Currently, we have about 30 free contact slots at Santiago that anybody is invited to fill. Even though our airline is not that frequently active at Sao Paulo, everyone is welcome to send their connection requests to that airport as well.”
See you in the skies!
