sonic airlines daily #4: Small airport, big problem.

IAD has big room for planes except the WoA IAD team do not have the money to buy the gates the airport needs. The team has plans to expand, but don’t got the money to do so! Another part of the problem is, so many airlines has offered contracts to the airport and they are STILL in a negotiation state, Including event contracts.

Pic 1:the only 737 contract being handled at IAD.

Mini Topic: rebranding

The team at Sonic airlines daily (it’s just me BTW) Has been changing our name to something more catchy. And we may change others things in our brand. Thank you for reading this fairly short article today and we hope to see you next time!

Notes: I made up the “WoA IAD team” once again it’s just me. But it does explain what’s going on at my IAD.

AeroBlue acquires their first Boeing 757-300

Welcome to “Willi”

With the retirement of the B753 at Condor on November 5, 2025, these airframes faced an unknown future.

As a major South American airline, AeroBlue is initiating constant market studies that lately revealed a high passenger demand for Carribean destinations such as Saint Martin or Punta Cana. However, with the structure of their current fleet, Aeroblue is not able to serve that demand sufficiently, a rather large narrow-body aircraft type seems to be missing their portfolio.

“When we first saw the offer for the former Condor 757-300s, we were sceptical if this type is really matching the goals of our airline. These planes are nearly 30 years old. However, Condor kept them in a good condition and we also needed to act fast in order to adapt our fleet to the high passenger demand to the Carribean. We think that we not only found a sustainable but also a cheap and fast solution with the integration of the Boeing 757-300 in our fleet.”

These are the latest words the AeroBlue CEO gave towards the given topic at a press conference yesterday.

Today, on February 14, 2026, the long awaited moment finally came! With the former Condor D-ABON, now registered as CC-FQH, the first Boeing 757-300 owned by AeroBlue touched down at their hub in Santiago. Unfortunately, the airframe lost its special “Wir lieben Fliegen” paintwork and now serves a shiny snow white livery. However, it will soon be painted in the regular AeroBlue livery.

(sorry for the bad quality of the screenshot, it’s from the only video I was able to make of Willi)

And CC-FQH now taxiing to the runway for its first flight from Santiago to Saint Martin

The Boeing 757 strategy

“The Boeing 757 continously grows more important for our fleet strategy. They simply have the perfect size for our hubs in Sao Paulo and Santigo. These planes give us the ability to serve holiday destinations in the Carribean and smaller citys in the United States. From Sao Paulo, there are also potential routes to Africa we want to establish with the Boeing 757.”

CC-FQH is the first of five Boeing 757-300 AeroBlue is receiving from Condor in total. These planes will be mostly operated from Santiago, while the shorter 757-200 is already operated from both Santiago and Sao Paulo in large numbers.

Personal words from the CEO

“We at AeroBlue always love to see different airlines at our hubs in Santiago and Sao Paulo. Not only does it strengthen our economical situation but it is also a great way to form long lasting partnerships in the airline industry! Currently, we have about 30 free contact slots at Santiago that anybody is invited to fill. Even though our airline is not that frequently active at Sao Paulo, everyone is welcome to send their connection requests to that airport as well.”

See you in the skies!

Applause! Very good dedication, the 757-300 is a jetliner with a great capacity and it’s a great plane for routes like SCL-GRU or SCL-SXM!

Hope those oldies get a good future and will come in a good connection, which cares about the plane

JJet to end US Operations!?

Over the last couple of weeks a rumour has been going around that JJet Airways will be leaving their IAD hub in Virginia and their SAN hub in California, we still don’t have confirmation but when CEO James was asked about the rumour he said no comment and walked away, if this is the case where would JJet go, a move to canada? South America? Asia? Oceania? They’re all options but the most likely one is Europe, the CEO from the UK after all, it would make some sense, but it would be very complicated, 60+ aircraft would have to be re-registered and slots at a new hub/hubs would have to be bought.

SkyStaffextra News:police_car_light::newspaper::rolled_up_newspaper::open_mouth: #5:

BRI hub:

SkyStaffextra chose the Italian holiday spot as a hub! And also, something big will be planned…

Fleet and positioning (plan for far far far far far far away future)

SkyStaffextra plans a fleet! But that will be a far away future. Anyways here is the plan:

B planes (SkyStaffextra Europe Hopper):

  • Embraer E175

We choose the E175, because it has a decent range and can handle low capacity airports easily. With that, we can offer the people extraordinary flexibility and vacations/holidays in Europe & Asia. From Tromsø, Aberdeen, Jeddah and more dream destinations!

  • Fokker F70

The Fokker F70 is an unbelievable efficient plane with a big range for B planes, so it’s perfect to make long-haul B plane routes, like BRI - MCT, or BRI - ADD, letting the passengers experience a little of Africa

C planes (SkyStaffextra)

  • Airbus A320NEO

SkyStaffextra Team and CEO have a great idea (maybe ): The Airbus A320NEO! It can fly short routes, like BRI - FCO… and still get good amount of XP  .

  • Airbus A321 XLR

The Airbus A321 XLR has the best C plane range in the game, so it’ll make the long haul flights, like BRI - IAD and so on. It will be equipped with a great Biz Class! Prepare for comfort  !

C planes (SkyStaffextra Holidays) :backhand_index_pointing_left:  :open_mouth: :warning:

First of all: What on earth is SkyStaffextra Holidays???

SkyStaffextra was made in thoughts of the CEO about economies and range in WoA. It is a low-cost sister airline of SkyStaffextra, has other colors (will be shown in a future post) AND! (the important thing:) it has only Economy seats, no in-flight meal (only snacks), holiday destinations (PMI, MAD, NCE, …) and low prices! A ticket to PMI one direction will cost per person with one bag to load ONLY 32$!!! So, it will be a good low-coast airline! Ryanair :telephone_receiver::telephone_receiver::telephone_receiver: we are here! :joy::joy::joy:

  • Boeing 737 MAX 8

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is the most used plane for low-cost airlines, because it has a good range for holiday destinations in Europe, which are low-cost and it has a good number of seating and can fit easily into the demands!

D planes (SkyStaffextra Holidays)

  • Boeing 757-300

Ahhh  the pencil plane! Very good capacity, great range for the Spain islands, not so cheap but fast

E planes (SkyStaffextra)

  • Airbus A350-100 (Option One)

Great range, efficient, many many seats! The first class will be luxury plus! It will cover daily routes to North-America e.g. Boston, New York, Dulles and Houston and many many more, Asia and South America (mostly Caribbean)

  • Boeing 787-10 (Option 2)

The Boeing Dreamliner has a range of idk how many miles (very long, definitely). Will cover North-America, Asia and South-America (mostly Caribbean).

  • Boeing 777L (definitely in!)

It has a massive range, massive capacity, perfect to cover Asia Routes! It will mostly cover Japan, Russia, Hong Kong (China) and Thailand. We will give a very long haul flight: BRI - PER!

SkyStaffCargo (ooo! I like that)

  • Boeing 737-800F

Nice capacity! The biggest in C class btw (I think). Will cover BRI - LEJ/CGN/other cargo heavens…

Thanks for reading! New news will come soon! Have a nice day!

SkyStaffextra Holidays Livery Vote
