Well believe it or not in my local airport and every single airport in Ireland all flights are suspended on the 25th of December and all Aer Lingus and Ryanair flights are suspended.

On a more positive note at my local airport every single year and annual aircraft blessing takes place at DUB. (I’m not making this up)

Wow! That’s shocking! I have a feeling BA would never do such a thing :joy:

MithFly Australia makes history with first Airbus A320-200 Test Flight:

Today marked a new beginning for MithFly Australia as MithFly Australia ran its first test flight into Canberra.

VH-M3A, a 2011 Built Airbus A320-216, which landed from its ferry flight from Hamburg on Monday at 3:12pm in Sydney, took off at 9:43am and touched down in the nation’s capital at 10:26am.

For the next many weeks, VH-M3A will be doing 2 test flights daily between Sydney and Canberra, which will be joined by VH-M3B in the coming days as VH-M3B is scheduled to make its ferry flight from Hamburg to Sydney via Muscat and Kuala Lumpur on the 23rd of November.

The first commercial flight for MithFly Australia’s Airbus A320-200 will take place on 13th of December 2024 and will inaugurate the Sydney-Canberra route. VH-M3A will operate all services on this particular route while VH-M3B, along with VH-M3C and VH-M3D, will start testing between Sydney and Melbourne before the official inauguration on the route on January 10th 2025.

VH-M3C will be delivered in Early December with VH-M3D to be delivered just before Christmas.

In other news, MithFly Australia’s only Airbus A318 has finished repairs at Nadi following a bird strike 3 weeks ago on final approach which damaged parts of the left engine. The aircraft is now undergoing Maintenance at Melbourne Airport after arriving from Nadi on the 20th of November and is expected to fly back to Sydney on November 25th, before the flight continues operations between Sydney and Nadi from November 26th.

Aer lingus flights suspended i wonder why

Massive LeChonk Group Order

Today the LeChonk group have doubled down on their Sydney campaign as they have ordered an additional 10 A220-300s to join their Sydney fleet; These A220s will provide key routes in the area such as flights to Fiji, New Zealand, New Caledonia and even a flight to the Philippines. They have also ordered an additional 3 specially designed (dimmable windows and reclining seats) B77Ws to serve some new ULR routes to compete with Evening Star including:

SYD-GRU-AMS (bi-weekly)
SYD-SAN-LHR (tri-weekly)
SYD-MCT-PRG (weekly)

Some are noting though that one route stands out from the rest, whereas every other route serves Flexi hubs, the SYD-GRU-AMS route serves two non flexi hubs causing some to speculate that these will become future flexi hubs. Despite Flexi representatives not speaking about it, new ads have been popping up at both airports promoting Flexi and their flights adding credibility to the theories.

@Ecoaviation wrong thread mate  But that’s very interesting nonetheless!

Oh that was a reply to @Jamesonplanes to prove that flights are suspended during Christmas day.
That’s from last year btw so I’m hoping that they will do it this year.

a major problem

With more competition appearing, the pressure is on Horsepower as the Flexi Alliance surrounds the airline at all hubs, leaving the IDA to be the only safe airport

With these issue, horsepower goes for one last ditch effort, launching hundreds of new flights all over the world from all hubs, ordering and receiving more aircraft, and even opening a couple new branches (those being Horsepower Oman and Horsepower Mexico).

On top of this, Evening Star received their first A350-1000ULR yesterday evening in preparation for the launch of the first SYD-LHR flight with the aircraft. These aircraft are the longest range aircraft that evening star will receive, and they will only receive 3. Alongside the new A35K, the remaining 5 77Ls (of 45) were repainted and put into revenue service, finally completing the fleet plan for the night flyer airline. (fleet plan was as follows: 25 77L +20 option (accepted), 15 A359ULR +15 option (declined), 3 A35KULR + 12 option (awaiting flight tests))

Finally, Outback Link pulls out of the competition for Sydney as Horsepower says, “we don’t want to cause issues between TQI, AWA, and Flexi, not with Outback Link, the competition is between Horsepower and other airlines, not the alliances.” this announcement was made during the inaugural flight of Outback link’s A320neo.

Just going to recommend replacing war with something else as it makes it seem like a hostile competition between alliances, just got to look at how somebody who doesn’t know much about the alliances would take it, and think it’s serious.

Perhaps competition? Race?

Yeah mostly along the lines of competition.

@horsepowergeek thanks, appreciate it. :+1:

You know what? You can have my entire Commuter and Regional network from IDA since I have very little attention there anyway.

I would call it “a friendly rivalry”.
But why compete when we have this great personal and Alliance cooperations?

We already have a lot of focus there mainly because it’s our home base city

I guess that true, but it’s still hurting profits on all sides
