**🔄 Problem: Account not linked**

You may see a generic name like Player2206505872 and a message such as:

“Account not linked to Game Center” (or Google Play)

When this happens, your saved progress appears to be gone — but don’t worry, your account has not been reset, and your data is safe on our servers.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Why does this happen?

World of Airports uses Firebase Authentication to connect your account via:

:green_circle: Google Play Games (Android)

:purple_circle: Apple Game Center (iOS)

Sometimes this connection is interrupted — for example, after reinstalling the game, switching devices, or due to system updates. In these cases, the game may start in anonymous mode, creating a temporary account.

:white_check_mark: Your Data Is Safe

All your progress, aircraft, airports, and purchases are stored in the cloud — nothing is lost.

You just need to reconnect the game to your original account .

:compass: How to Fix It

➤ Step-by-step (in-game)

If you see a screen like this:

  1. Tap the “Link Account” button next to your nickname.

  2. Sign in with the Apple ID or Google account you originally used.

  3. Confirm the login and wait a few seconds.

  4. Your game will reload with your original progress.

:wrench: Full Troubleshooting Guide

:mobile_phone: For iOS / Apple Game Center:

  1. Close the game completely (swipe it away from the multitasking view).

  2. Go to Settings > Game Center .

  3. Tap your Apple ID > Sign out.

  4. Reopen the game — it will start in anonymous mode (e.g., Player123456789).

  5. While the game remains running in the background, go back to Settings > Game Center, and sign in with the correct Apple ID.

  6. Return to the game and tap “Link Account” next to the player name.

:yellow_circle: Important: Step 5 must be done while the game is still open in the background.

:robot: For Android / Google Play Games:

  1. Open the Play Games app.

  2. Go to Settings > Your Data > Choose account for games .

  3. Make sure the correct Google account is set for World of Airports.

  4. Alternatively, enable “Always ask” to choose the account on game launch.

If the account is correct but the issue persists, do the following:

  1. Clear the cache for the following apps:
  • Google Play Games
  • Google Play Services
  • Google Play Store
  • World of Airports
  • (Go to: Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Storage > Clear Cache)*
  1. Restart your device.

  2. Launch World of Airports again and tap “Link Account.”

This will clear the in-game cache and reload your data from the server.

:rocket: Coming Soon

We’re actively working on expanded authentication options and more robust syncing, so this issue will be less common in the future.

Thank you for your patience and for flying with World of Airports!
