Question About Unlocking Kannur Airport After the Latest Update

Dear Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I installed the latest update today, but there’s a topic that I’m still a bit confused about, and I’d really appreciate your help in clarifying it.

For example, in the previous version, it was possible to unlock the next airport — New Orleans Airport — from Bangkok Airport by leveling up from level 80 to level 81, without having to spend any gold coins

Will the same logic apply to Kannur Airport?
In other words, will new levels be added to Santiago Airport so that we can move from Santiago to Kannur by leveling up, similar to how it worked with Bangkok and New Orleans?

Or, will the only way to unlock Kannur Airport be by spending 4 gold coins?
Also, will there be a future update that allows us to unlock Kannur Airport through level progression instead?

After the latest update, when I try to unlock Kannur Airport, a message appears on the screen (in Turkish), which I’ve translated into English as:
“Actual location and parameters General 3D model (not completely accurate)”

From this message, I’m wondering if it means there will be another update related to Kannur Airport.

Thank you very much for your time, help, and understanding. I’m really looking forward to your reply.

Kind regards,
Erkut ALTINOK

No, generics are unlocked separately. The only way is to spend the GPs.

Possibly if it’s really popular. the point of generics it that they are not completely accurate to speed up development but if they are very popular it’s possible that it could be upgraded to be completely accurate like the other airports.

The question is, what will be the next generic airport(s)? How many will we get and at what intervals?

Just be patient, the devs will let us know soon enough :slightly_smiling_face:

Patience is there only the information about it would also be good of course😉

At this moment is not even sure if we will follow up on the Idea of generic Airport. I definitely still see the potential od this project.

Yes, there’s potential. What further tests or trials have you considered? So, which functions do you want to test on the generic model? If you, as the development team, could perhaps give us a little more insight into your ideas/expectations for the Generic project, then I think it would make things easier, including allowing the community to talk about it. Because, honestly, the CNN airport is there now, okay, but what next? So, we’re facing closed doors with this whole topic, at least that’s how it feels to me. I’d like to help and support you with this project. That’s why I’ve suggested possible test functions that I think would be good to try out on the Generic model.

I think I spend enough words on how we want to utilize the generic airports. Some of your suggestions just match with our plans, but at this moment we just need take a breath coz the finish before release was just crazy (as usual), recover, think and get bak on the drawing boards, There are many airplanes, many liveries, and minimum two real ariports we are working on.

Yes, everything’s fine, please don’t take it as an attack. We all understand that you were and still are under immense pressure. Yes, that’s true. You or you have written a lot about Project Generic, but I’m still missing the icing on the cake. But I understand that you’re currently taking a breather. And please, this isn’t meant as an attack. I want to help and support you!

Hey David,

I really appreciate your passion and all the suggestions you’ve shared—it’s clear you care deeply about the game, and I have no doubt your contributions come from good intentions (and maybe a bit of youthful energy too ).

That said, I’m pretty sure I’ll never be able to fully satisfy your hunger for updates and behind-the-scenes info, no matter how much I try to leak or share. We are going through your suggestions—many of them are excellent—but realistically, we’d need to double (or triple) the size of our dev team to make everything happen as fast as you’d probably like.

We’re steadily improving our DevOps and workflows to handle more over time, but I’d rather focus on building and delivering than trying to win a “who has the last word” game . I hope you understand that it’s not about ignoring anything—it’s about balance and capacity.

Thanks again for your ongoing support and feedback. Keep it coming—we do read it, even if we can’t respond or act on everything right away.

Cheers,
Charlie

Thanks for the feedback Charlie

If you’re looking for more team members in the future, I’ve got my paintbrush ready to help with liveries

why CNN airport is not real

Because it is a Generic Airport. GA’s have a standard layout that is very similar to most single runway small airports, and the devs simply choose a good location for the GA to be.

Why can’t we find Kannur India airports on MAPS

Because CNN is just the name and place of the GA, it is not actually a airport that is in the game.

Hello Charlie, I truly appreciate your efforts. I’m honestly one of those players who never complain about what you do — on the contrary, you always manage to surprise me.

I’d like to ask about the missing decorations. Will they arrive in December or within the next few weeks?

Regarding the generic airports, I was always skeptical about whether that would work. I don’t say this because you did something wrong, but because I know there would be many complaints from my fellow players, and that’s something that makes me sad.

My idea is that you keep following the same path as always — building one airport per quarter, as usual — and discard the idea of generic airports, since many players don’t really appreciate the effort you put in. It’s sad to see so many questions and complaints directed at you when you’re just doing an amazing job.

As for me, I’m completely satisfied with everything you do.
