Virgin Atlantic has been quite frequently sending up A35Ks from Manchester to Edinburgh to complete a bi weekly EDI-MCO route they run every summer

It’s a shame they are only positioning flights and you can’t book seats on them. I do recall seeing Virgin Atlantic A320s when they were doing domestic flights for a short while.

Yeah forgot about Tui and jet2 haha, didn’t know BA occasionally flew widebodys to Edinburgh.

It was a one off apparently, sent in place of an A321neo.

Shame really, i do wish BA still did routes like LGW-MAN-ISB, bit more presence in the north would be nice

Isn’t it funny how IAGs answer to BA outside of London is the Irish flag carrier…

Yeah… BA mainly make you fly down to Heathrow to then get to where you want to go, suppose its more efficient for them.

I don’t mind making the trip down to London, as it’s far easier for me to take the train. I’m doing it on my next trip anyways, using Avios to pay for a Club Europe flight and taking the train down means you save money on food at one end (thanks to the Lounge) plus have plenty of space to have an afternoon in London before flying as there’s more trains I can choose from.

Yeah, still waiting for BA to up the regional network with Flybee gone. Especially service to LBA, stopped that due to COVID and haven’t started it back up. Would be much easier and cheaper then taking the train for me. But I completely understand what your saying.

I’ll admit the domestic flights come in useful at times, mostly when you have Avios sat around and you struggle to get train tickets back. The Flybe network does seem to be slowly recovering with the reintroduction of MAN-SOU & EXT with Loganair. It’s just far easier take the train though to get to major airports which is the biggest issue ontop of the cost of domestics flights which aren’t with easyJet or Ryanair UK. I mean in my case I can take a train to Euston in about an hour and a half, have some time in London and get across to LHR in less time than it would to get to MAN, wait around and then fly down.

Anyways to stay on topic to some extent have some photos from some of my MAN-LHR and back flights.
