Well, last trip of the year commences! A short hop over the pond on G-STBK operating the BA173 to JFK in seat 1K!
Unfortunately they only had 3 Christmas dinners for first, (should probably have more as obviously that’ll be the most popular option) so settled with what I thought was a beef wellington but turned out to be a celeriac wellington!

It’s sad to think that by March they’ll cease to exist. Glad I got a flight on one though. Lufthansa should keep one flying and cannibalise the others to do so

All they had to do was take the old livery and stretch it down the fuselage as per the new. But no, they ruined it lol. The loss of the yellow is a travesty akin to Korean’s butchering.

They are very cool the lufy a340s. I flew an a340-600 back last year from Delhi-frankfurt, and surprisingly it was the last scheduled -600 flight before they would switch back to the -300 so I was crazy lucky

Nice, I never saw Times Square when I was there but I did do 2 day trips round the city. Preferred the countryside of Long Island though myself, I’m a country boy. Love JFK though so you need a big city for a big airport like that.

Yeah JFK was really good, terminal 8, traffic was horrendous but expected, took about an hour and a half both ways from where we were in Manhattan. Didn’t end up going to long island, just a short trip, did see it in all it’s glory on approach…

Well, my final flight of the year has come to an end, writing this in seat 39K, on G-VIIK, waiting for busses to come take me to the terminal, went from the very front of the aircraft on the way out to the very back haha, great flight, incredible crew, best this year I’d say! Short flight of around 6 hours!

I have always wanted to fly on a 777 but unfortunately when I went to Frankfurt I flew on a 787 it was still cool I just want to fly the 777s before they leave Canada

Yeah they’re brilliant aircrafts, the -300 is miles better, but I thoroughly enjoy flying BA’s old -200s, rather fly on one of those then an A350 honestly, not trying to sound like a Boeing fanboy but the only Airbus aircraft that’s any good imo is the A321Neo and A321XLR, other then that I prefer Boeing! 787s are lovely aircraft, take a while to get up in the air haha!
