Hope too get some city spotting in as I’m here all weekend!
I’m super frustrated. Had an opportunity to catch a flight landing into SHV a few days ago (an AAL CRJ9) during heavy rain showers/thunderstorms and wind. After waiting for nearly 30+ minutes as it routed around and waited (winds changed the active runway) and driving to match it, I had it in my sights! It was a wobblin’ and even the path on FR24 was curvy on final! Decided I wanted a photo and not video, but somehow as it lined up into the perfect picture… I pressed something wrong, and no photo at all. Here’s the wacky path and wiggly final at least.
Well the situation has only got worse in Scotland, in my town it can’t decide if it wants to snow or rain causing everywhere to be caked in a 1cm of very slippery ice. There’s an hour delay at EDI with multiple cancellations, if this is what its like now I can only imagine the trouble on my Christmas eves flight
Dang…
See a kia in the bottom corner : p
I fail to see what any of these photos of the recent weather have anything to do with real world aviation?
Huh… Forgot about the topic… Sorry
…His capture (and mine) of FR24 was to show unique aircraft/flights that we could’ve had pictures of but instead only have the tracking of. I don’t wanna say no one is interested… but that’s literally just a normal flight that occurs all the time. If we all posted just trackings of normal flights with no significant circumstances, then this thread would get messy and uninteresting.
Moving on, I saw someone mention the single A346 freighter in the new L aircraft thread… and it randomly popped up in a video on my Facebook feed!
Had another appointment by the airport so went to make up for my last visit. Was only expecting to see a private G4 before I had to leave, but got surprised by an Allegiant A319 arriving 45 mins early from LAS!
I would wonder storage, but they’re only 10-15 years old… the call sign for the CRJ is a maintenance or ferry flight one I believe as it’s in the 8000s (normal is in the hundreds or low 1000s). Maybe there’s a maintenance facility or paint facility there?
Perhaps. Would’ve thought it’d be somewhere in Spain though.
There are maintenance facilities at LPL but as far as I’m aware only private jets and general aviation ever seem to use them. Normally stuff like that is to do with football charter flights. A Condor 757 was there a week or two ago.
You probably have the correct answer! Although an A330 is quite a large guy to be chartering, even for a football club.
They’ve been used many times, occasionally they’ll show up at MAN as well for football charters. LPL gets some pretty interesting stuff when it comes to football charters, especially considering the airport has no scheduled widebody flights.
It was for Real Madrid FC who played Liverpool yesterday.
