Runaway for landing and departure

Hi

I am playing now on Washington (IAD), with 4 runaways. When (i hope you do) do you plan to offer user possiblity to choose on which runaway plane might land or depart from? Seems sometimes I got block by offering 2 runaways for landing and mostly 1 only for departure(90%).

RWY 19C → Landing 70% → Depart 5%

RWY 19L → Landing 10% →Depart 0%

RWY 19R → Landing 20% → Depart 10%

RWY 30 → Landing 0% → Depart 85%

Such a change will make game more playable…

thanks

Not a dev but the reason for the landings is how the paths are linked from runway to stand and then back out again. It would require a complete rework of the system and would be a big job for the devs but I would love to see it one day.

So, neither guiding to stand? i mean like showing path from runaway to stand with customization (like I am air traffic controller)?

Sadness…….

It’s likely something we will see added on a generic airport to test the feasibility, just like how currently CNN has wind based landing whereby the aircraft, depending on irl wind direction, lands on either runway and uses a different taxi pattern. Overtime we’ll see generics get updated with new features that will slowly roll into the other airports in-game.

Hi,

For now, you can use nice schematic by Geo (from discord) posted by @ritcheuy here.

You can check which runaway will be used depending on the stand.. With this and scheduling, you can get more balance in runaway usage…

Hey,

In IAD I use only the R stands with C cathegory, so RWY 19L is more in use and airport fill up with planes much faster. You can divert them with the scheduling system, by choosing this stands or block other stands which use RWY 19R and 19C.

Actual they building a new concourse E with new stands up to autumn 2026. I hope IAD will reworked again and take into account the new Terminals. With that we would have the biggest airport in WOA, not only with 4 RWY´s in use, also with biggest capacities generally!
